Dude, I watched Brees a bunch in college (Purdue grad here). Joe Tiller was a great college coach for QBs and Brees benefited a LOT from that. When he didn't show much potential with the Chargers it didn't surprise me at all. I wanted him to succeed but it just wasn't there. There was a reason SD wanted Eli with the #1 pick in the draft and ended up with Phillip Rivers. But to his credit, Brees took it personal and decided to totally dedicate himself to being the best QB he could be. The transformation was mind-blowing.

I'm not on the Case bandwagon yet, just saying anything might happen when you look at guys like Brees and Brady who weren't highly regarded as NFL prospects. Never thought much of T.J. Yates and it would be great if Case beats him out for the #2 spot.

KTRK-TV apologizes. A faulty component in an uplink truck is the apparent culprit. It caused intermittent transmission interruptions to the signal reaching the satellite. It sounds complicated. It is, and we'll make sure we solve the problem so it doesn't happen again. We truly regret the interruptions. We will rebroadcast the game -- clean, and in its entirety -- Saturday night at 7pm.

Larry Fitz... I mean DeAndre Hopkins looked awesome

I think Case took the early lead in the QB competion

    Willie Jefferson is an athlete

Earl Michell is gonna help out JJ Watt

Lestar Jean needs to learn how to use his hands

    Swearinger is adjusting

    Ryan Griffin might be something

Most impressed with Wood for the battle to be the #3 running back

Probably going to carry 3 QBs, I honestly didn't see Keenum separate himself that much from Yates which is what he would have to do to usurp Yates as the backup.

While Case doesnt seem to have TJ's arm strength, he is extremely poised...TJ on his first series just looked rushed...Case was pinned at the 15 and shouldve gotten 6 twice on his first drive...TJ has physical tools, but lacks the real vision. Case has the vision, but im not quite sure of his arm strength. Bottom Line, i really can see the Texans carry 3 QBs. Case has clearly closed the gap with Yates. TJ Yates is now in his third year...there is really not a lot of excuse for stalled drives in the 2nd.

TJ's biggest advantage forever will be that guy who stepped up when Schaub and Lienhart went down who helped us win out first playoff game. But Case is showing me something. We will all get to know more, as Case gets to play with more talent.

Case seems to have better touch on his passes than Yates.

I'd like to see Case get second team minutes in the next game.

About the Hopkins TD. Great catch, but was it a touchdown? I didn't see it, but in the gif he doesn't seem to stand up with the ball still in his hands...

Willie Jefferson could be impressive with some bulk. He could be the Bryan Braman of this season, but possibly with better stuff.

they have to keep 3 qbs. You keep yates and keenum and keep hoping they throw tds in the preseason. then, you flip one of them for a 1st or two 2nds.:p

There's is no way he goes back to the practice squad. Don't even kno why Myers suggested that.

They showed it from other angles. He clearly had possession as he crossed the goal line and had it tucked in his right arm as he hit the ground. The ball only came out after he tried to transfer it to his other hand.

Defender touched him while he was still laying on the ground, so he was down.

And Case has a better arm than Yates.

Braman always shows flashes in the preseason and then seems to be used almost exclusively on special teams.

One of the replay angles showed it better and a little slower... Hopkins was lying on his back with the ball in both hands and then the defender who was also on the ground punched it out.

If I lived in bum**** nowhere I would blame it on my local station and give ABC a pass. If this was a one off event I'd give them a pass. I'm not giving ABC a pass on having an affiliate in the fourth largest city in the US that continually year after year has issues putting on live football games with decent video quality.

Really impressed by Case (seems like a lot of agreement for once!). Still, it was against the 3rd string...I'll reserve final judgement for when he plays against 1st/2nd string quality players. Maybe against Miami?? Really hoping he doesn't end up on the practice squad.

Nuke is going to make this team a LOT more dynamic. Hopefully Schaub is taking note.

Swagg struggled, although I've always thought Corners & Safeties have the biggest learning curve when jumping from college to pro. Learning from Reed should really accelerate his development, but I need to temper my current expectations for him.
