I was browsing around eBay the other day and ran across some retro Vision clothing...so I did a little looking to see if anyone was selling their old 80's skateboards and to my astonishment, those things were bringing in the bucks. So I looked a little more and found that the Vision boards that I used to love from my high school days were reissued and continuing to be sold.

I can remember saving my money like crazy to get me a board with Powell wheels. Jeesh I was such a poser...never could skate worth a crap, but had the sweet gear to fit in.

Here are the two boards I had...the ever popular Mark Gonzales model and the less popular but ever-cool Aggressor.

I still have the Aggressor...I keep running across it every time I move somewhere...and I keep thinking I'm going to trash it. I guess after seeing how popular these old boards (and retro clothing) is becoming, I'll probably hang onto it for another 15+ years. Jeesh...I can remember wanting that Christian Hosoi hammerhead board. How big were those things?:)

    I've still got my board:
    Powell Peralta Mike McGill board
    Bones Brigade wheels
    Independent trucks

I still think "Bones Brigade" is one of the coolest damn names for anything I've ever heard.

I believe I still have mine, a G&S Neil Blender. All the cool accessories too. I never could skate though. I was a poser.

Did anyone see the commercials during the Astros game last night advertising a new show called "54321", about extreme sports? The have a group of skateboarders, and one guy who is an obvious poser, holding a small yellow plastic skateboard with the pointed nose.

I owned one of those boards.

I had a Zorlac double cut. Shaped like a peanut. God that thing was sweet. Got hit by a car and crushed to splinters. So sad... [IMG]

My first real board was a Zorlac "John Gibson". After that it was all Powell Peralta....mainly Caballero boards on Independants and Bone wheels. Those were great days and nights (Downtown). My son skates now and wants a halfpipe in our backyard.

Neil Blender was the deck to have. He pioneered the larger nose that helped out on ollies and street tricks. Before him the fad was to have as big a tail as possible. What's more was the fact that he drew all the artwork for his boards.

What about the Phsyco Stick, that was a pretty sweet board.

Unfortunatly I had very very bad luck with my boards. I had 2 brand new boards stolen, and I snapped at least 3. All of this in Ida freeking ho. I mean in my whole town there were only 10 skaters. Still this crap would happen all the time. I guess it does not help when skateboarding is banned in the town.

I now use my G&S board (circa 1982) as a dolly to move heavy stuff from room to room. I would use it to go to the liquor store around the corner until I wiped out and smashed a half gallon of Crown Royal. No more skating to the liquor store for me.

    Great Thread.

ZORLAC! didn't they have a Big Boys deck? The one with a double-headed skeleteon? I would pay good money for one of those right now.

My first was a Sims Screamer. Parents got it for me for Xmas. I just found a pic of it and got a little emotional. (cry)

    1989!

    always skated Gullwing trucks.

I started with a Tony Hawk. Me and my friends formed our own "Bones Brigade" and each of us took on the personality of
the crew. Lance Mountain, Guerrero, Caballero, Valelly.

I also remember skating Bad Boy Club Monty Nolder(?).

Who remembers the skate park of Houston off of 59?

I dropped in on a 6 foot half pipe my first time there.

    I was eleven.
