Wanted to throw this out there and see if anybody knows of such a place:
Is there an indoor basketball court that can be rented out?

I'm trying to set up a party for a large group of friends from out of town and play some basketball while they were in town.

Check local park districts with indoor gyms - typically they'll rent it out to you for a flat cost/per hour. That's how I did it when we ran our own league.

My friends and I used to rent a church's indoor court every Wednesday, until they tore it down. I doubt a lot of church's have them, but if you can find one, that would probably be a good bet, assuming you just want to go and play basketball, and have the actual party elsewhere.

I know there's still one on the northwest side, I think it's on Fairbanks North Houston, near Fallbrook. It's a huge church, and they used to have basketball tournaments there, so that may be an option if it's on your side of town.

If you're on the westside of town and looking for a church with courts the two I know of are MDPC and MDUMC. I would call them and see

Looked it up and saw a picture, it's definitely not that one. Looking like it's not Fallbrook.

It was definitely by Rolling Fork and Reed (went there for 1 year, the first year it opened). That could be it. I couldn't find a picture of it online, and this was 15+ years ago.

    West Houston Indoor Soccer

You'll probably have to rent it out late at night though when they don't have anything going on. I did it once there.

I'm actually surprised Houston doesn't have this yet. Here in Orange County there are 3 I know of where there are about 10 courts or more that people rent out for league games, basketball camps, or just guys that want to get together and play ball on a nice court.

Someone needs to get a big piece of land and build one of these things.

We probably hooped together didn't even know it. That's pretty crazy.

I went for a while as a teenager but stopped going because they kept making us go upstairs to sing Amazing Grace and pray in the middle of games

There was a place like this called league America. I think they closed down like 2 years ago though.

Anyway, I also recommend west Houston indoor soccer. I know moochie Norris has some courts as well. Don't know the name though.

Is West Houston Indoor Soccer the best place in town still?

Did you try Westside Tennis Club where the Rox used to practice? They might have private party options.

I've seen the court rented for league play at the Met downtown, you might want to check that out, but I have the feeling that will be pretty pricey.

Try First Baptist Academy off I10. I think they rent out courts, not 100% sure though.

First Baptist Houston has two courts, as does Sugar Creek in Sugar Land
