Every since Obama came into office, there has been a lot of hatred thrown at him. It sure happen with previous presidents, but I don't think to this level. Or maybe the media and how info move faster and faster is proving more focused on it? Whatever it is, the perception is definitely out there. The reality is, there are plenty of treeman out there that aren't racists. But you know what get the attentions and feed the perception. You get caught in it yourself when you throws those generalization toward the Democrats.

 

Hated the chimp & Hitler crap thrown GWB's way during his tenure as well. Obama has gotten it worse, and it's impossible to deny the amount of racially-based jokes, pictures, cartoons, stickers, signs etc... made about him.
There are too many examples to write it off as "just a small minority of his detractors".

People that have disagreement but not hatred or racial attitude toward Obama do not gets attention in the news and other outlets. Look, if they are a majority or even close to one, I think an armed revolution would have already started. Good thing is most people are decent and good.

 

I definitely don't think all Republicans are racist. Just about 1/3 of them.

 

"hundreds" of anti-Obama racists does not mean all "anti-Obamans" are racist. There are hundreds of black voters who won't vote for white people. There are racists on both sides of the aisle, that doesn't make it right, but it doesn't mean they are all racist....

 

There are 300+ million people in this country. How many of them have spouted racist material? Dozens? Hundreds? Thousands? Millions? No, there are not enough examples to do anything but write it off as a small minority.

 

If you were to take ALL of the people in the US that ate white and that are racist. What percentage do you think would be democrat and what percentage Republican?

The problem is racism is not restricted to white people. Some of the most racist people in the world are not white.

 

Right, treeman...Obama was elected and then the left started looking for racist boogeymen. There is NO WAY that the racist nonsense started immediately after his election. I mean, I had always seen people at the post office with a picture of the POTUS with a Hitler-stache trying to hand out pamphlets. That was a completely normal sight for me before Obama.

And just the other day on I-10, there was a group of people on the overpass with signs that read "Impeach Obama" and "Deport Obama." Nothing racist there at all!

treeman, you have racists in your party. Not all republicans are racists, but there is a racist POS segment of the GOTP and Obama lit a fire under them. There is no denying this, although you will.

 

I'll agree with treeman that the implication of the OP is that the general conservative opposition to Obama is born of racism, and that's a serious charge to paint 40% of the couuntry with. But, obviously the people in this story are expressing bald-faced racism, and it is too common a story. It's not 40% common, but too common. That's not treeman's fault, and I'll respect him enough to not accuse him of blatant racism, but you gotta admit the overt racism is part of the mix of the objection to Obama by the conservative population.

Amusing that the person who makes sweeping generalizations about half the country being traitors or sheep has a problem with people making generalizations.

 

I lived in Scottsdale for 5+ years. Arizona sucks in every single aspect except 1)TONS of hot, dumb, morally challenged girls and 2)great golf. Actually, those are both pretty compelling reasons to stay, which I guess is why I lived there for so long lol.
