UPDATE: Rockets will wear a sleeved jersey on Christmas Day

I hope they are the alternate red and yellow so i can actually wear them out like my soccer jerseys. Def. don't want a short sleeve of our primary jerseys.

Why can't the NBA just keep it at a one day thing during the season or only preseason? I personally love the idea of wearing classic jersey style nba shirts. I can't wear no tank top Hakeem jersey out and about, looks too tacky. But, if it was soccer jersey style, i'd wear it every day.

 

i like the colors on the "revolution" jerseys in the rocket shop.
they should ditch the red/yellow and phase in the red/silver/black or red/dark grey/white.

 

Sleeved Jerseys are an even worse idea than codes for how players dress.

Stupid. All those years of beautiful tradition gone. If you're going to forgo something as classic as sleeveless jerseys, at least make them look cool.

This is all some dumb ploy to sell more. They don't even look cool.

 

That mid to late 90s uniform era was horrible. Big cartoons on the front was the thing.

 

A lot of people say this is mainly driven by sales because fans will prefer to buy sleeved jerseys to wear out...BUT, if they are going with these "under armour original fit" shirts, fans aren't going to like them. They're too tight. I'm in pretty good shape and even i wouldn't wear out tight jerseys to game and in public.

 

its not so much that i hate our design (def some of that too!), its moreso that i absolutely hate the wnba style cut of the jersey. the only person they will look good on is Dwight bc of his enormous shoulders. The sleeves may end up helping the jersey, who knows.

 

what so bad about the jerseys with sleeves?!?!

 

I'm sure most will buy a size up. I'm anxious to see what these will look like!

Pretty dumb that the NBA is deciding who has to wear short sleeves or not and not letting the teams have any say in it.

I just flat out don't understand why they are even bothering.

Is it to increase jersey sales, because they feel more people would wear sleeved jerseys in public? Or just creating more options so people will buy the traditional uni's, plus the sleeved ones?

I know players weren't on the court thinking, "Boy, if my shoulders had more coverage, I'd feel a lot more comfortable out here."

Profit is the only rational I can envision. However, the NBA is likely sinking a lot of money into the development of these awkward looking jerseys. I can't see how it avoids being as big a waste as the official synthetic game balls were.
