http://www.thestar.com/sports/rapto...ite_jersey_submissions_from_star_readers.html They better keep the name and just go back to the Vince and T-Mac jerseys and colors. Some of the sickest jersey sets ever. with an alternate of a modern version of this:
I wouldn't be opposed to them making a switch to the Huskies since its an original team name and they already use their retros. Plus its a unique color set compared to the rest of the NBA...but then again so is purple, black and red...
I dig it. Or going with the huskies. Why don't all teams do this? That way, the fans re satisfied with the product no matter what. Would end all our complaining and I'd love to see all the designs.
Problem with the Huskies is they might look too similar to the Timberwolves especially since both would have blue as well. Theres just way too much blue in the NBA. Way too much navy blue...and now the pelicans use it too. I really hope the Rockets make the switch back to red and yellow or if keeping the logo and color, at least add black to our scheme since...well...space is black after all. I think black would make more sense for our team than any other team in the nba...
Toronto should be the Huskies. I don't buy that BS that they couldn't come up with a logo that wasn't unique enough from the TWolves, if that's true then they needed a new graphic designer. I agree, there needs to be more variety in the NBA color scheme. Toronto's logo should incorporate the CN tower, and forget about the mascot.
Raptors are my second team, in major part because of the uniqueness of the brand. If it changes, then I will probably not count myself a part of their fan base.
They are your 2nd team because you like dinosaurs? If so, I have an article for YOU! http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2013/6/25/4440558/toronto-raptors-mascot-dinosaur-nba
Can we get this going for the rockets already. Every team seems to be getting a new look but the rockets
Huskies isn't really a basketball name. Raptors is fine. I agree with OP about throwing back to the T-mac Vin Carter days.
Can't believe it took this long to mention UConn. I'm quite sure no NBA team is going to take the name of a prominent college team mascot.
So the city has the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Toronto Blue Jays aaaaand the Toronto Raptors. Which name does not fit with the others?? Hmmmmm leaf, bird aaaand dinosaur. I think we can fix this one pretty easy clutchfans! You may be asking yourself How?? It's real easy folks, and here it is ... Your.... All New ... 2013... Toronto... SQUIRRELS!!! Loud music explodes in the arena! You here sound effects like wind blowing and leaves shaking then the sounds of a dozen very large rats, nay, SQUIRRELS scurrying about and when you think your heart can't take anymore excitement... You hear the fast paced chomping of nuts! The fans are on their feet!! The lights start dancing all around the walls of the building and one by one the stars of the Euroleague are called out as the starting lineup!! The air is electric! Can you feel it Clutchfans??? Can you feel it Canada???!!!
Were you the brain trust that re-named the Pelicans too? Regarding your "one of these is not like the others" comment about Toronto's team names: -Look up the word "raptor" in the dictionary. It is most commonly used to refer to a bird of prey. -If you don't like that argument, maybe the fact that birds evolved from reptiles would sway you to reconsider your stance. In case you didn't know, dinosaurs were considered to be reptilian creatures. Im going out on a limb & assuming the "squirrels" suggestions was in jest, so I wont get into that. Other than those minor points, ummmmm......solid post bro. (that's called sarcasm fyi).
