What... I wouldn't trade away any of our stars for LeBron. But I'd be happy to trade away Parsons and/or Lin and/or Asik and/or everyone else that isn't Dwight or Harden.
This is such an embarrassing thread. I'm just going to slowly back away, hands visible at all times, and try to forget that I ever saw such ignorance.
I wish people would get it out of their heads that lebron is going to leave and go anywhere except cleveland, thats the only team i think that has a chance and i dont even think they would land him.
Don't like Lebron, don't want Lebron, and we don't need Lebron. If we are going to get a third star I would prefer a PF.
This crazy. Lebron James carried the worst team in the league to the NBA finals as a number 1 seed. James Harden got the Rockets to 8th seed and first round exit. No one can win it by themselves, but if you traded James Harden for Lebron James, Miami loses to Indiana in the ECF. Lebron pretty much played every position for that team, gaurded all 5 positions and dominated in the playoffs. Can you really ask James Harden to play 48 minutes at PF and bang with David West or shut down Tony Parker. They may score around the same number of points, but Lebrons is soo much more efficient.
If Miami take Harden and Parson for Lebron, why not? I think we might need to throw in Asik to sweeten the deal. Miami need a real center.
Can't y'all take some sarcasm. I would probably trade Howard and Harden for James. If the cavs had put a decent second player next to lebron like Amare I think he would have stayed with the cavs.
Lebron says: "Hello!" Obviousely, Lebron ain't coming to Houston. But if offered a trade, Morey would give up: Harden, Howard, the new scoreboard, Houston's thriving economy, and the San Jacinto Monument to make it happen.
I wouldn't do it because it would Morey is stuck in his ways in treating every single basketball player as an asset. At some point you have to start showing some loyalty to your players. I'd hope Lebron does the same next season and stays with the Heat. I wouldn't lose respect for him though if he went back to the Cavs (but that's not happening)
Can't believe this discussion is even happening. Lebron is one of the best players in the history of the NBA, James Harden is arguably a top 2 or 3 SG in this league. I am hoping this thread is just full of trolls or maybe Clutch should start having members take a bastketball IQ test before being granted membership to the site.
This is not how deals get done. If Lebron comes here (which he probably won't), he'll walk here...or he'll leverage a trade here....that is if Morey wants to trade for him. Lebron won't come here if we have to trade the whole team for him. He's already got 2 other hall-of-fame players he can play with in Miami. Or he can walk to Cleveland and play with Kyrie. So...there's no reason to be talking about trading Harden and Dwight for him. He won't stay here if we did. The whole NBA is a huge poker game guys. The GMs hold the chips. And they keep having to move to different tables with higher antes depending on their chip values. Lebron (and others) are simply primo chips that have the ability to decide every few years whose hand they want to be placed in .... if that GM has cleared out enough chip value to add him. Here's what I see unfolding this coming season: Riley is going to know by the trade deadline whether or not he's got to make a move to get another championship. If he feels he has to make a trade...he's going to try to get a primo center and other pieces for Bosh. Bosh has more value that Wade right now. And Wade is the hometown hero who won Miami their first ring. Now if Miami puts Bosh out there...they're going to have a difficult time getting more value for Bosh than Asik/Lin/(DMo or Jones). If they trade Bosh...they've got to get back a primo center plus another primo shooter at the 4. Otherwise they're just spinning their wheels. I'm not even sure Morey would trade those guys for Bosh. It would all depend on how we are gelling at that time. And it would all depend on whether we can get to the Finals with the trade and whether Morey sees that he can beat Riley in the Finals after making the trade. There's absolutely no use of making a trade of your premium chips if you hand the other guy the championship that you are trying to take from him. So, I'm not sure Morey would even go after Bosh...although Bosh at his best is the IDEAL FIT at the 4 to play alongside Harden and Dwight. So, if Morey ducks out of the trade talks then perhaps Riley might get Cleveland to come to the table. Send them Bosh and get back Varejao (or Tristan) and Bennett? This would effectively blockade the Cavs from the Lebron free agent sweepstakes. (see the different aspects of the game here? it's not just about making a trade or "bringing in someone". it's also about what the other team is doing and can do to build a better team than you have.) Now, if Miami is on pace to hit 72-10 or is really flying high with the Big 3, I don't think Riley even considers trading one of them. Then the poker game moves to the off season with the Big 3. If Miami does three-peat then what reason does Riley have to break up the gang.....UNLESS Lebron requires it to keep him in Miami? Lebron is the single chip on the table with the most value and the most leverage. And that leverage is at it's zenith when Lebron is pending free agency. He can exert all sorts of leverage on Riley at that point. So, Riley has to walk softly and appeal to what Lebron wants. He's got to keep the ball rolling, keep the cabinet stock-piled with a championship caliber roster. He can't let the thing decay. He's gotta pay the dough and he's gotta make a trade if necessary. So, if Miami does win their third ring without any changes...then the collaboration starts with Riley and Lebron. Riley knows Lebron can walk off to the Lakers next year. He knows Lebron can walk off to the Knicks after 14/15. Hence all the rumors (put out by Lebron) that he is going to be heavily interested in the Knicks in 15. Well, guess what? Melo is pending an opt out after next season too. And Stephen A. Smith has already told the truth about the situation with Melo. Melo isn't going to stay in NY and burn up his prime years waiting for Lebron to get there. Knicks are dead in the water next year and the year after that. Way over the cap and Amare all broke down. First or second round playoff exits at best. So, SAS is right. In this huge game of BLUFFS...handwriting is on the wall with Melo. He's opting out and going to the Lakers after next season. Lebron put out that rumor to hopefully hold Melo in NY while Lebron decides where he wants to go. IF Miami three-peats and Lebron gets Melo to hold out in NY for another season then Lebron can decide not to opt-out and he can either go for #4 with the same guys or he can get Riley to move one of the other 2 to keep him in championship contending mode. But all that is not going to work. I don't think Melo is going to corroborate with Lebron. See, there's a poker game within a poker game here. All these guys (Lebron, Melo, Dwight, James, Durant, Westbrook, Kobe, CP3) know they gotta have at least 1 and maybe 2 other superstar guys around them to get rings. They're playing their own poker games within themselves. The players are running their own poker game alongside the GMs. And both sides (the GMs and the top players) know the other side is playing a poker game as well. Agents are the connections between the two poker games. They talk to the players and they talk to the GMs. So, here's what we really should know is going to happen barring any trades before hand. MELO IS GOING TO THE LAKERS AFTER NEXT SEASON. You should write that down as a given. The question at the moment is what will the Knicks do about it? Will they trade Melo and get value for him before he opts out and shuffles west or will they ignorantly barge ahead just like the Lakers did with Dwight...screwing themselves over in the process? If they are smart (definitely not a given) then they will try to trade Melo before the trade deadline. I do expect that in the coming months we will hear plenty of chatter about Melo trades because of this. The smart people in the league KNOW that Melo is going to opt out and go to the Lakers barring some miracle in NY. That miracle being....the Knicks somehow knocking off Miami and getting to the Finals and winning the ring. That would be a true miracle because the Knicks are just not good enough. So, while all this stuff is going on....Morey is on the sidelines...holding his chips and waiting...waiting....waiting.....waiting for an all in.
Sometimes the ride is better then the destination. Take Hakeem's career, watching his career in Houston was an absolute joy. Through the good times and the bad. When the destination was reached in 95 & 95, it was extra special because of the long ride. Nobody in Houston ever complains about not picking Jordan over Hakeem. If we had Jordan, its possible we wouldn't of had such a great ride with so many beautiful stops and hard bumps along the way. Harden has all the gifts you want in a player (except for defense). Yeah, we could come up with a scenario to get Lebron but why? If they can compete year in and year out, we can enjoy the ride regardless of a championship. Loved watching the Texans last year because they took the team on one hell of a fun ride. Injuries, matchups, etc. all these things have an element of luck so a long as you are competitive maybe one year lady luck looks kindly upon you........................MY PRECIOUS! Lebron is great but I'll stick with the guy who chose to come to the Rockets when they were down. Sounds like he came for a fun ride. Oh and a max contract.

The big three have early bailout options in 2014 so until they exercise it...it's all wishful thinking. I assume if Miami gets notified that he's bailing then they probably would try to get something for him, otherwise, he walks. Then, he would probably have a list of teams he could be traded to, etc...
