Same here. Except I'm on Team Juggs, although Portman upped her game with those implants. Still on Team Juggs though.
I actually was pleasantly surprised by Captain American. It was a fun movie in a cheesy, pulp-hero kind of way. In fact after the bad taste left in my mouth by Iron Man 2, I hadn't written that and Thor off but ended up liking them, and really loving Thor. The director controversy worries me a bit, but the trailers so far have looked good.
Agreed on being surprised by how good it was. Although I have to admit, even though Portman is awesome, I thought she was out of place in the movie and her and Thor had no chemistry.
Thor's hair looks better than the slicked back mullet from the first one. He looks more nordic than sons of anarchic.
Just saw it. For a movie with characters that has superpowers out of this world... the fight scenes seem a little underwhelming. Typical "I punch you and you punch me, we go to the ground and punch again" fight scenes. Wish we had those fight choreographers from the old Jet Li movies. The villain was also disappointing. There were nothing special about the Elves and no real background information on them. The minions were generic, just like in the Avengers. Wished Kat Dennings got more screen time with less clothing. She was covered to her teeth the whole movie. With that said, I was entertained. 6.5/10.
You were entertained but it's a 6.5? I generally save anything below 7 for something that truly sucks. Did you like the first one?
Was gonna give it a 7, but it just left a lot of things to be desired. I did like the first one. I mean, the bad guy in the first one was Loki so I understand if the action scenes are a bit lacking. It's an origin story after all. But in this one, I expected more from the Dark Elves. They were generic and nothing about them stood out nor looked cool. They can't fight and they had ugly ships. But still, much better than the American Captain.
Man, Lady Sif fans are gonna be bitterly disappointed. She (and the Mongolian warrior dude) probably has like 10 minutes of air time combined. I wonder if they're going to make a third one based on the ending. Or maybe they'll just end it at the Avengers 2.
movie kinda sucked. Didn't care about the villains, the writing was terrible, the action was lame. Maybe I'm just really bored of the Superhero genre. But hey, there were still some funny parts. Loki was, by far, the best part of the film.
It's funny, I feel the exact same way. I've noticed there are people that didn't like it, I thought it was a lot better than the first. I wouldn't say I'm a Thor fan (Marvel, absolutely), but I really liked this one. I didn't see the ending coming either.
Put me in the camp that thought this was way better than the first. Wish it had more Loki though. I kind of saw Thor and Loki's plan coming a mile away even more so the ending but I thought it was great. I wish they would have shown what happened though.
For me I sensed that Odin knew it was Loki. My guess (far fetched) is that Odin now trusted Loki after how he helped Thor actually made a deal with Loki to take over the throne since Thor no longer desired it but under certain conditions, while Odin possibly left to mourn the loss of his wife. On the surface it seems devious with the way they portrayed it but in actuality it sets up for something completely different for the next movie. yeah i know..far fetched
