    I think it's a tough question...

    In just Houston? It will be anyone on the NFL team...Matt Schaub probably more popular than Dwight Howard IN Houston.

    But out of houston? Easily Howard because the NBA is a worldwide game so that makes Dwight the most popular figure in Houston.

    Anyone who picks a player other than Watt is living a.) in a bubble, or b.) not in Houston.

    J.J. Watt is the most popular athlete I've seen around these parts in quite some time, perhaps even going back to Hakeem right after the championships. Football fans I know hold Watt in the same regard as Hakeem, although one man has much less an impact on the football field than on the basketball court. He's easily the most popular football player the Texans have ever had, even surpassing Andre Johnson. The X Factor is his personality. The dude can say nothing wrong.

    Well Howard is still massively popular...but I don't think he's more popular than the big names on the Texans in Houston.

    Out of Houston sure, Howard is more popular. He was a Laker last year, was in a movie during his Orlando days, plays in a global league. But in Houston? Nah, I know people who haven't heard of Howard really but all have a opinion on Matt Schaub.

    This is a football city, it's JJ Watt. I'm sure Dwight is up there since he's a star and he's new here.

    Andre will always be my favorite football player, but most popular goes to JJ.

    JJ might be the most popular right now, but Dwight is the most well know "star" internationally.

    However, if this is truly a pole about popularity, JJ wins all day every day.
