I also like how you have no idea what I was referencing but still assumed "I deserved it."

Do you not see how this is being completely insulting to me?!

Oh, good, I guess. We did have a dust-up a month or so ago and I lashed back at you for something you said. I think we cleaned it up immediately and mutually and moved on at that point.

Well, either I've remembered the wrong poster or you don't see your own role in it. I've admitted mine. I've got to go now, but I'll look for it later...

I have made plenty of snarky posts (I am here to entertain myself, after all), but I try not to be an ahole as much as possible. Sometimes I cannot help it, though, when posters are just pushing my buttons and posting complete nonsense. And for the record, I don't care if someone insults me. I only pointed out your insult because of the subject of this thread. When most people get mean and post overt insults, it normally kills their arguments. I try to avoid that.

It depends on whether or not the usual suspects turn it into a Muslim/Islam Hate Festival.

I'm relatively new here and enjoy reading the DD, to learn, to get various viewpoints and see people behaviors. Surprised me at how some are so stuck in their views with little to no flexibility. A good eye opener for me. Frustrated at the outright lies and dis-information (but later came to realize, that to some, what they believe is their truth - poor folks :) ), but quite satisfying to read many of the reasonable points that I have not realized or can't articulate until then.

    LET'S PLAY THE GENERALIZING GAME.
ALL REPUBLICANS/CONSERVATIVES/TEABAGGERS ARE JUST CRAZY GUN NUT EVANGELISTS WHO ARE RACIST AND HATE ISLAM.

You realize not everyone is far left and far right, right?
I disagree with the Liberal mindset on certain issues. Namely affirmative action, certain aspects of gun control, environmental issues, and the healthcare reform.

Politics is not that black and white.

Perhaps I'm too young, but I've always been skeptical about the idea that our partisan politics is somehow much more vicious than ever before, really.

The 90s had the government shutdown and the impeachment stuff
The 80s had a president who was extremely controversial in his policy towards the Soviets, not to mention things like Iran Contra which did not occur with Congress's knowledge
The 70s had Watergate and Carter's malaise.
And where do I begin with the 60s?

As for the D&D? Sadly, I think it's one of the better political forums I've been on, though I do get annoyed with how left it leans. It'd be more interesting to argue with other conservatives, especially since there is a real disconnect between the GOP - as one guy said, you have the Christie people and the Paul people.

Without D&D, there will be nowhere to move divisive tthreads to. And what's left of the hangout and Dish will become a mess.

    D&D is a necessary evil.

giddyup, what's up with the double standard. Why not harp on treeman for calling democrats "traitors" and "environmental extremists".

Just answering back to gifford-- who has a 10 year history of doing this kind of stuff.

As we've seen, treeman makes a post (or two) professing a faith and he is one of those smothering, inflexible Christians that you can't even reason with. It's been a constant. That's why.

This is a place of brief messaging. There are bound to be generalizations made about groups. What I really don't like is the constant negative summations about conservative posters by those on the left.

At first I thought it was really sad. Now I mostly find it hilarious. I will never in my life understand what makes a liberal tick so now I mostly laugh at them.
