waiver trade deadline is at end of august. will be interesting to see what they do with him if they can't move him (and he's still pitching well) though.
It is awesome to see this. I grew up with the guy and now he is beasting for our hometown team. He has potential to be a really solid player and maybe an allstar if he can keep on getting better. The Astros have hope with our young core.
can someone explain what happened? Can't tell via pbp Men on 1st/3rd, 1 out, GIDP, but the run scored. My best guess is that the grounder went to 1st, and the 1B tagged 1st, then threw to 2nd, but Ortiz must have forced a bit of a rundown--enough to let the runner from 3rd score before he was tagged out?
Testing out my stream with this Astros game. Can anyone tell me if they're having lag issues? Right now the only issue I seem to be having is some video flickering. http://roxbball.wix.com/none
Basically. Relatively sharp grounder near 1B bag. Wallace immediately stepped onto first for a quick out, and the runner on 3rd hadn't broken yet (or else he'd have been out by a mile). Then Ortiz lulled the Astros into a rundown and the runner on 3rd broke. Frustrating, because it probably would've been a doable 3-6-3.
how in the world are the astros winning a rubber game with the mighty boston redsox! It makes no sense.

That sucks. I guess it's instinct to hit the bag if you're on top of it, but I'd like to think you could be aware of the situation and go 3-6-3 Surprised they couldn't have gotten the runner at 3rd into a rundown if they were watching when he broke. Guess he timed it really well
