They'll be better, but I'm still not convinced they are a slam dunk for the playoffs. Calm down everybody, the West is STACKED.
Look at it this way: The Blazers were a playoff team until their starters collapsed due to heavy minutes late in the season. It was inevitable. It's kind to say their bench was atrocious. Their GM admitted he wished he had stocked their bench with more than crumbs but he didn't expect them to be so successful the first portion of the season. All of the acquisitions bolster the bench including Mo Williams, who is a huge upgrade over the trash they had behind Lillard last year. There is a reason he lead the NBA in minutes played as a rookie. They aren't a "good" team now, more like a little better than mediocre and less likely for the bottom to fall out with 30 games left in the season if they keep LMA.
I do think that they could make the playoffs and be a good team. They could also have an equally weak bench. They are depending on a lot guys that are first or second year players to make up a lot of that bench so I'm gonna wait to see if the bench is actually better. Right now Mo Williams is all they have really added that is somewhat proven and he is on the decline. There is a reason it took this long for a team to sign him for what he got and its not because they thought he would be a great addition to the roster. I'll wait to see how much better they really are because there is too much unproven players that people are considering as upgrades when it's definitely not a sure thing.
