I understand that our bullpen is terrible but doesn't it seem like Porter should have pulled Lyles earlier? Generally we're asking if he should have waited longer.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Villar is coming off with an apparent left hand injury. Tough inning for the Astros. This is going to be a long game. It's only in the top of the 6th and there have been 10 unanswered runs by the Red Sox. On pace for a 4 hour game.
Nope. I don't have Comcast. If lucky, I can listen to it on the radio... if my offspring aren't hogging it!
I went to bed after they took the lead. I was too damn tired to be getting depressed. Lyles at times looked great last night, but then grooved way too many FBs.
Lyles has been such a strange case. He came up as a pitchability guy with unspectacular stuff. Now his stuff often looks great but he seems to have no sense of how to pitch and falls apart when things start to go poorly. He'll probably get to finish this year, but if there isn't marked improvement it's probably time to move on,he has been terrible since that good run. 8.49 ERA over his last 8 starts, and he was doing so well too.
He's 22. Younger than any other pitcher on the team, or in AAA. I wouldn't say move on. I'd have no qualms about him going down to the minors for a full season.

I don't understand the reasoning behind trotting bedard out there anymore, although I'm happy they've done it in a way that allows the kids to still get starts
I think it's more to watch the innings for the younger kids. Less starts, less innings, less stress for the young pups.
