You clearly missed the point. Its a luxury, regardless of what it is. I know, must be so hard for you to comprehend.
Not sure if much will come out of it, but MS will discuss some things related to Xbox (and presumably Xbox One specifically) this week with the Build event: http://www.buildwindows.com/ NeoGAF thread: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=603911 Good if you like MS stuff in general too I guess. First keynote is a little under 2 hours from now I believe.
If anyone was wanting an update to my last post, I don't think there was a lot to get excited for from Build for Xbox (MS kind of said so at the beginning). There was some cool stuff. They showed off some DX11.2 features (also coming to Xbox One). Also announced a deal with Unity. I'll have to review the details again (MS was being misleading again IIRC), but basically Unity will support Xbox and all that. Anyone who signs a publishing deal with MS will get free access to Unity Pro. I think Unity is their replacement for XNA. There was talk about self-publishing, though I think that remains possible only for the Windows Store (or whatever it is called). I think you'd be able to create a game for it, self-publish there, and then have it be playable on Xbox One. But it wouldn't get the benefits of being a full XBLA game (more or less an "app" rather than a game). Games still require a publisher it seems (and so indies are still pissed I think). This was unrelated, but it sounds like MS did stop charging developers for updating their games (used to have a $5K-$10K fee for updates beyond the first update, which prevented some developers from patching their games...or wanting to ever work with MS again). Also unrelated, new talk that the eSRAM is...somehow...faster than expected, so theoretical bandwidth on the system is quite a bit higher (196GB/s I think).
I wonder if this was really his choice or he was told to leave. Either way can't say I'm surprised. http://games.yahoo.com/blogs/plugge...aving-microsoft-zynga-top-spot-173941917.html
http://www.engadget.com/2013/08/07/xbox-one-xbox-live-gold/ Not really a huge surprise that these things wont work without XBL Gold, MS being MS. I really want to know more about the NFL on Xbox though, wish they would release more details about it.
Why not NBA on Xbox. That's basically $60 a year for all the TV I need and gaming I need packaged into one entertainment system. The Xbox One isn't bad, but I can't fathom spending nearly $700 on a console (considering its $500 base + accessories + games).
You can easily find deals for XBL for almost half that on the internet. I personally don't care that they require you to have XBL to use those services because I'd get XBL just for playing online anyway. NBA already exists on XBL, I'm guessing that's why it wasn't really mentioned.
The XBOX One has done a great job and going back and redoing things after their initial missteps. At this point, I think it will outperform the PS4, bc I dont really see the edge that the PS4 has right now. Sure, there are some great developers that will come out with the few games that will be incredible...but the XBox will have some great exclusives as well, on top of the additional stuff.
I lost a friendly bet to my friend last night playing a game of billiards. Bet was if I won we both get ps4 on launch, if he one we both get xbox one. Wasn't a big wager by any means seeing as we both were getting one or the other on release. Looks like im on team Microsoft now
I saw that and i was like... wtf? Was it a bet with the Bass? Tbh, you both lost and I never knew he was such a big xbox fan, he was the one that convinced me to get a ps3.
Pretty cool, nice to see they included that headset. I thought for a second that I was going to have to pay extra for yet another accessory.
Instead of including a rechargeable battery pack ($20 accesory), they give you a $2 hdmi cable, what a bargain!!
Wow, I cant believe Xbox.... Those scumbags.... I actually thought they were going to include every single accessory for the Xbox One in the basic and cheapest version you can get. Pshhh, HDMI cable? That's no fun... I wanted the most expensive things they got like an extra controller and three games and Xbox live should be free!!!! It don't cost them anything to provide all that content and servers to play against other people all around the world. They want me to pay how much again? $500 for a console and all they give me is a console? That's absurd!!!! Sooo money hungry... Expecting me to buy accessories and games they should be giving me for free like psn......
