I'm an unapolagetic conservative Christian, and I make no bones about it. I know exactly what I am and unlike many others here who try and present themselves as moderates or whatever when they are as far left as it gets, I don't try and pretend otherwise.

I simply can't take anyone who isn't honest about what they are seriously.

This is kind of a litmus test... for me anyway.

I recognize the intelligence of a lot of the posters on the left. I won't name names because I don't want to flatter or insult anyone-- not all but many, maybe even most.... but then there are some who just come to drop insult.

Intelligent people can disagree, you know, even agreeably-- except back here and that is mostly the fault of those on the left.

Back to the intelligent left: I can see that they are smart and that a lot of our "differences" are more about values. I don't know that I have EVER insulted their intelligence; I know for sure it is a rare occurrence to find me dishing out those kind of insults. I will do so when I get frustrated and exasperated enough but it is occasional in comparison to what the right receives.

There are a whole horde who are leftward-leaning who would describe me and others trending right as "knuckle-draggers" or "stupid" or worse. Fact is I have a superior IQ. I'm quite sure that there are those here with higher ones, but that is not the point. The point is that I am not stupid and I have considered these matters over many years.

Hell, I supported Jesse Jackson in the 1980 Democratic primary. Take a look in the mirror everybody.

Lol that sounds like a fun argument to have. I was going to mention this on facebook at one point then I just gave up and thought "what's the point?". It's kind of funny how the political continuum circles back around on this point and people on the far left and conspiracy people on the far right seem to think GMOs are worse than eating plutonium.

I'm along the same lines as you. I have no idea which direction I lean because my views can vary wildly from one point to the next, but I would have to put myself more on the "right" side of the spectrum. I try to question everything and try to not cling to any one belief. View life from all different perspectives, try different ideas, and do more of what works. It's made me successful so I keep thinking like that.

You are a far right religious fanatic.

LOL, a far right religious fanatic who has made exactly ONE post in the "Do you believe in God?" thread, and that only to say "Yes".

This is EXACTLY the sort of garbage I am talking about.

Sounds like you understand yourself pretty well. That's how you come off around here anyway.

As for my GMO arguments. Let's just say a recent one ended with me telling someone I was okay with them wanting GMO labels on food but they may as well start putting warning labels on black cats too. Equally dangerous.

I'm so glad you know better than he does. That is typical for you. I know treeman to be conservative but I didn't know until the past few weeks that he considers himself Christian so I'm not sure why you are in such a huff about him SELF-identifying as a Christan to a degree you are NOT SATISFIED with.

CASE IN POINT. Thank you for the demo, gifford1967!

BTW, my ignore list is filling up again quite rapidly. When I came back I erased it because I wanted to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Now I just add anyone who posts garbage like the above and has nothing useful to say so I don't waste too much time reading or responding to what they say. Now I think I have even more on there than I did before.

Did those labels offend you? Shocking.

giddy you're out of your depth, so you should just stop.

treeman has no problem labeling Democrats as "far left" "traitors", "socialists", and "environmental extremists" and then handing out lectures about how he can't have a debate with people who aren't "honest about what they are".

So here's the equation for you:

If Democrat = far left, socialist, traitor, environmental extremist

    then

conservative christian = far right religious fanatic

I'll add "delicate flower" to his list of labels because treeman's now shown that while he can dish it out, he can't take it.

Telling everyone you have a superior IQ doesn't automatically make it so.
Likewise politics isn't related to IQ as much as its related to behavioral characteristics, personal ethics, and core values.

Only in the D&D can I be described as a sap and a traitor by someone who complains about name-calling. Gotta love it.

And Treeman...it has been a constant struggle since the founding of this nation to hold a certain segment of Christians at bay. This segment does not believe in the separation of church and state who works tirelessly to get their Christian message spread in as many public places as possible. It is not a war on Christianity to stop Christian fanatics from wanting to decorate court houses and other PUBLIC places with their Christian dogma (that's actually protecting America). Name me one instance where Christians have been persecuted on private property in a systemic way. It's not persecution to stop the Gideons from handing out bibles at public schools. How would you feel if some iman wanted to hand out Korans to all public school children? I, for one, would be against that as well. And don't act like that wouldn't bother you. I won't believe it for a second.

The one thing that the D&D has made me realize is that I must have masochistic tendencies, how else can I explain my daily ritual of reading through the threads in the D&D? What frustrates me the most is that this is a public opinion forum, yet the majority of posters think that their opinion is without scrutiny and that they fly at a much higher altitude than everyone else. There are a few intelligent posters who resort to insults and name calling thinking that this somehow further proves that his opinion is more valid than the opinion of anyone who disagree's with him. Yea this really helps to prove your point...

A clear sign of intelligence is to realize that you don't know everything, and that there are other people who are just as smart as you who might not agree with what you are saying.

Obviously, but did you miss my point?

    I'm not a knuckle-dragger.

I have a superior IQ compared to the general population. I can tell that many here do likewise; so I'm not bragging, I'm just leveling the playing field.

That's a new low-- even for you.

In the last hour, you've been proven wrong and you don't even see it.

I take it that you are referring to me and all I can say is "you deserved it." You were being intentionally provocative and insulting as I recall. Maybe I'll look for it.

If you actually read what I wrote, you'll read (if you actually read what I wrote) that I admit to occasionally stepping over the line of decency but I've usually been pulled at pretty hard. You were one of those... a month or so ago.

    over your head (again)...

treeman schooled you on your harshness towards his Christian professions. He's barely a blip on the radar on that front and I independently confirmed that with my observation. It only seems to be you who sees him as some kind of heavy-handed oaf in that regard.

I pointed up your hypocrisy on your desire to decimate Congressman Young while "overlooking" Trayvon Martin's racist terminology in his conversation with his GF about Zimmerman (not to mention the rest of the trash on his Twitter feed).

You pick and choose what you want to see and hear rather than seeing and hearing it all. Were you one of those "insightful ones" in the first 50-400 pages of the Trayvon Martin thread? I don't remember....
