26 games on national TV?? I'm going to have to re-evaluate my position above. Seeing as how I can see more that 1/4th of the games next year without CSN Houston, I'm going to have to say....... **** YOU, COMCAST. Damn, that felt good.
It's actually 20 national TV games because the other 6 are on NBA TV which will blackout the games in houston
Here's hoping the all the national games will show DirecTV, Uverse, Dish that the Rockets are indeed a team people want to watch.
That's still roughly 1 out of every 4 games. I will definitely take it - especially compared to last year, which was a nightmare if you didn't have CSN. Like someone else said, they replay the games on NBA TV later that night. And I end up having to DVR most games anyway, so I'm good.
I think the games that are scheduled for NBATV aren't blacked out. It was only the ones that were "promoted" to NBATV and still broadcast locally that would be blacked out. I could be remembering it wrong though.
Incorrect. If it's on NBATV, and you're in the local market, it is blacked out unless you watch the re-run later that night.
Yeah, there are 20 nationally-televised games on standard channels: TNT, ESPN, and ABC. In previous seasons, as teams get more/less buzz, the schedules have changed slightly (ESPN will sometimes alter their schedule by putting one game on ESPN2, and adding a second one on ESPN). I wouldn't be surprised to see the Rockets get a few more games. So, 20 full games on regular TV next season along with increasing quality and quantity of available streams. I'll probably have a pretty good way to watch every single game next season. Comcast Sportsnet Houston is so screwed.
Except that CSN will have exclusive Rockets content and TV shows. If you're a diehard (if you're on the GARM I consider you one) that will be hard to miss out on.
Each year NBA TV will have a two week free preview at the beginning of the season, so we should be able to watch a few more Rockets games on the NBA TV. I hope this is right in this year?
Going to be blacked out if you live in or near Houston. It's also a League Pass free preview, not NBATV. You'll get to watch other teams.
I get letters on the daily from Comcast to switch. Im not doing that. They can kiss my a##. I hope all the other providers dont give in, Crane's ignorance and greed have made me hate the Lastros.
I got a better deal. I got $20 off a month for 12 months and free NFL Sunday Ticket. I get my internet from Comcrap and have a deal for TV that runs out in September. Hopefully these credits will offset the increase that will happen for me watch CSNHouston. The sad thing it is a good channel. I always turn it on when I come home from work.
Yes, you are right, I forget that we can only watch other teams rather than your home team, this is so funny, can be only true in USA because of those stupid TV deals. Today business people only care making more money, nothing else, that is pretty sad. For that reason, I am not going to switch Comcast even though I can easily to do so.
The extra Rockets content on csn is pretty awesome. I caught a show the other day at my dads. Covered the Dwight signing and summer league. Also a Parsons workout with McHale.
Apologies if this has already been covered (and I'm sure it has), but if I bite the bullet and subscribed to Comcast, how much extra is SportsNet Houston?
