I think I understand. Thank you for the explanation. I am a little bit more knowledgeable now. Damn it is a hard trek up that hill.

Morey is likely betting that he can get someone of the Millsap caliber, perhaps better, later in the season in a more favorable deal than he could get in July. He may prefer holding into his assets at least for now than spending them on someone like Millsap right away.

It is telling that Houston eventually didn't get that far pursuing Josh Smith-- a more talented but also more expensive player than Millsap-- after the team landed Howard once Detroit's bidding got too high for the Rockets.

I actually was surprised that Houston did not land Smith. He seemed like the perfect match with McHale as the coach and Howard as the center. But freeing up $12 million in cap may have been to painful. I am just going to assume that Morey made the best decision.

Well they probably didn't "land" Smith because Morey is a stats guy and according to the numbers, Smith is one of the worst volume shooters in the NBA. Sure he's great defensively, but he actively hurts any offense he's a part of and he's really undersized for a PF. I'm glad someone else is stuck with him.

Defensively, Jones could end up as good as Horry, offensively DMo should be much better than Horry. Both probably rebound as good or better than Horry.

The game starts in 15 minutes. D-Mo will play.

Left to reserves: Javtokas, Kistof Lavrinovic and Renaldas Seibutis

Not sure if Dmo will start with Kleiza and JV in rotation. Kazlauskas mentione that mostly Kleiza will play at 4th spot. So we'll see!

Not really. Horry wasn't ever a good rebounder and he wasn't ever a great scorer. Sure we remember him hitting big shots, but that's about all he did. He was a fairly great defender who in his best 2 or 3 seasons could give you 10 points a game. The rest of his career he was a bench guy who would play fairly great defense and give you 5 points a game....He's had some great shots in his career, but don't let that blind you to the player he really is.

I don't think you watched Robert Horry on Television. Not blaming you. If all you had to see was his old ass on the Spurs and Youtube videos.

I did watch him on television, and when I watched him the most was during the most effective years of his career which were the first 4 when he was a Rocket. My appreciation for him helping the Rockets to the championships doesn't blind me to the player that he was.

The broadcast today seems to have better production value.

It seems they are doing the same thing with Valanciunas that they did with DMo yesterday. As soon as he gets the ball in the post, they are sending him to the line.

DMo is in the game now, he just launched a 3 that was short. Him and Valanciunas out there at the same time is completely unfair against this low of competition but they'll need it going forward against better teams.

The Lithuanian guards are just terrible though.

Foul, foul, foul, and foul some more. Belgium really has no answer to Lithuania's front court.
