Parsons, Casspi and TJones have the advantage. They are either SFs or a PF who plays like a Small/Shooting Forward.
That formula worked for Dwight Howard

Rudy T thought that with Horry too, until the Elliott trade was rescinded, sometimes letting them grow is the right answer.

Given that the Rockets are not going to score many more points next season (how much more can the second most prolific NBA offense score?) and Howard in all probability is going to be putting up 17 - 20 ppg. Therefore filling the power forward position becomes more about fit than offensive production. The same holds true for rebounds. The Rockets may need a a smart journeyman at the power forward much more than they need an all-star offensive machine. I think that a floor spacing defensive power forward might be ideal. And someone like that would come at a very reasonable price. My guess is that we will find out what Morey thinks at the trade deadline. So crash you nailed it in your post.

Rockets should have signed Milsap. Milsap signing with Atlanta made no sense. Horford will continure to play out of position (Natural power forward playing center), and Horford will continue to be unhappy in Atlanta.

I would rather stick with Dmo, T'Jones, G.Smith and wait till a good trade comes around to ship Asik.

Asik and one more asset or Lin could get us an allstar PG or PF!

besides today is the second friendly match, all 3 players that haven't played in the first match will play tonight: JV, Kleiza, Kalnietis.

Kazlauskas (NT coach) haven't told which players won't play). If I get any news whether is D-Mo playing or not I'll keep you updated. The game is same time and against Belgium too.

Exactly good sir! And that is why Morey pays Morey's salary. The choice of the right player to add is not simple nor easy. I would imagine that Morey and his staff will spend hundreds or thousands of hours figuring that out.

That is very interesting. I don't believe it is a bad sign for either the national team or the Rockets. Or for D-Mo for that matter.

And for people who do not understand how good the Lithuanian national team is, they made it to the round of 8 in last years Olympics. Yes the USA team was head and shoulders above everyone else, but that team played Harden for only about 11 minutes a game. Yes it was that good.

That would get you most of the way there, but you would have to give up something like D-Mo and Smith also. And I personally would not feel comfortable at all with Bev, Brooks and Canaan as the PG depth.

Did Utah want Jeremy Lin? They seem committed to Trey Burke and only want a cheap vet PG to back him up and not compete with him for minutes (they signed John Lucas).

Seriously? The odds of D-Mo or Jones being another Horry are slim to none. Yes, they deserve a chance to grow until the right deal comes along. If that deal comes before the season starts, too bad so sad individually for them. Rockets are within striking distance and have to make that move if it presents itself.

Only need to find a team willing to take Jeremy Lin for Cap Space and small expiring deal (less than 3 million). Rockets having all their 1st round picks, all but one of their 2nds, and a couple of NY's 2nd round picks probably have enough to get team to take Lin and to entice Utah to do a sign and trade without using an actual player from the team besides Lin.

I may be confused but for the Rockets doesn't D-Mo/Jones and Smith make just North of 2 million? I cannot name $2 million in contracts that I would do without next season on top of losing Lin. Unless you get into the cannon fodder that will not make the roster (which from my limited understanding is what counts against the cap). Just my opinion. I could possibly not understand the cap implications.

My thought would be three way trade.

Third team gets Lin and send back small contract. Third team is under cap enough so that trade matching rules don't apply to them.

Utah sends out Millsap at 9.5 million and receives picks. Since Outgoing>incoming, trade rules are satisfied for Utah and Utah gets a 9.6 million trade exception.

Rockets send out Lin at 8.37 million.
Rockets receive Millsap at 9.5 and expiring contract at 3 million.

    Since outgoing salary *1.5 +100,000=12.65 million> 12.5 million
    Rockets meet trade matching rules

If third team doesn't want Lin, Asik could be used instead. I read a report or two that said Philly out of the goodness of their hearts was willing to accept Asik for nothing if the Rockets needed the cap space for Dwight. Obviously if Asik was use instead of Lin, third team would be sending picks to Rockets and Utah.
