I drive to the grocery store in my 10 mpg SUV and buy a 40 pack of bottled water, but I got my reusable hemp grocery bag so I'm environmentally friendly!
another option would be to ban food which would hopefully start to put a dent into our overpopulation problem
They banned them in Austin when I was still living there. After forgetting to remember my bags the first few trips, it then became second nature. I think it's a good idea and that they should do it here.
**** no. **** Austin. I shop at Central Market a lot, I make sure to let those minimum wage hipsters have it when they assume I want a paper bag.
I'd be fine with it. I don't bring bags now because I don't have to, so I don't think about it. But, it wouldn't take long for me to adjust to a ban.
It makes no sense not to do it. Thread starter aside, it's obvious what the personal freedom folks would say about this. So ban the bags, move the thread and ban the poster. Freedom!
Yes, it's a pain at first until you get used to it then it's no big deal. It's been several months now in Austin with a plastic bag ban and it's not a problem.
