oh god this is hilarious. How a couple of fluke wins to a WCF (WHERE YOU GOT SWEPT AND EXPOSED) really gets to your head. Its ok, let it all out man.
This has got to be one of the most idiotic things I've ever seen. When people hear Houston - they envision Olajuwon, back-to-back Championships. When people hear Memphis - they envision a franchise that was so inept that they handed Pau Gasol away for nothing. And yes. At the time Marc was nothing. Congratulations. EDIT: actually the thing which comes to my mind when hearing Memphis is losing after being up by 24 points in the fourth quarter.
when i think grizzley basketball i think of that at the time 23 game record losing streak.. man they sucked
what , its easy to say stupid $**** all the time, biut as CxBBy pointed out it needs to come with some sort of accountability. If you ever want people to take you seriously, then hold yourself accountable to what you say. You've been proved an idiot over and over again to the point where people shouldn't take you seriously, so nobody is going to take your "i am a r****d" bait. You really think the rockets have <1% chance of getting the 4th seed ( a mediocre seeding anyways) then you are just trolling. At least have the balls to admit it. I will match CxBBy's bet, so if you don't pick up on the offer you are just a p***y at this point. MemphisX, you've actually had some good points, I don't agree with most of them but you are a fan of the team and rockets fans do the same thing. They aren't blanket statements like what is making.
I don't think most people outside of Houston think of Olajuwon and the back-to-back chips when they first think of Houston. They should though.
if they had a Kevin Martin on their team and Tony Allen of the bench then Memphis would actually be super dangerous. lol they would somewhat recreate the 2004 Detroit team. Conley=Billups Martin=Hamilton Prince=Prince Randolph=R Wallace Gasol=B Wallace I miss the 2004 Pistons, one of the greatest squads ever assembled
Memphis is a solid team, Marc Gasol and Randolph are a formidable front line, the best in the NBA in my opinion. it really delusional to say they can win the west, a lot of teams this year have the chance. What is just a troll though, it's pretty obvious now, iunno why people bother even responding to him, he's obviously exaggerating things just to rustle some jimmies.
I like the Rockets better as a team - by that I mean, I'd rather have the Rockets' roster than the Grizzlies'. But who will have a better record this year? I'd say the Grizzlies.
I just can't see Memphis duplicating their performance. I like their team. Love Gasol's game. Was cheering for them to win it all. But the desperately need somebody who can create his own shot. Gay would've been great if he wasn't such an inefficient overpaid player. I don't think Koufos and Miller are enough. Maybe Mo Williams/ Beno will help the benc depth. They should hope Franklin develops rapidly. I'm predicting 6th seed for them.
Came to the party late but a few thoughts: I disagree with the 2nd part, I don't see the Rockets winning the west but I do see us in 4th/3rd/2nd place with the Clippers, Spurs and/or the Thunder ahead of us. WB coming off a major injury? Barring setbacks (mainly bowling accidents) the typical recovery time for an NBA player with a lateral meniscus tear is four to six weeks... He could've been back by the playoffs if the Thunder went deep. Kevin Martin was inconsistent off the bench (shocker) but I do agree it was a tough loss for OKC. Also don't think OKC is finished adding to that sub par bench, Presti isn't that stupid. That being said, Durant continues to get better & the Thunder still beat the Grizzlies with a healthy Durant & WB. You're right father time does catch up eventually. Randolph is 32, Prince is 33 & Allen is 31. That leaves you with a 28 yo Gasol & a 25 yo Conley. To your advantage, your best bench player Bayless is 24 but overall not so far off from the Spurs taking into account the amount final's games those players rack up. So i wouldn't really play the age card. Koufos was a nice signing & it did indeed address one of your weaknesses (defensive post play) but it's nothing compared to the problem you guys having with shooting & offense. The Rockets had the number 6 offense in the league last year, we also have two of the top 3 defensive centers in the league on our roster. We can claim that Harden & Howard are the best players at their respective positions, can you guys really claim that about anyone on your roster? It's a matter of Memphis getting slightly better & Houston getting A LOT better this offseason. Hey there's still offseason to go but as of now I take Houston's roster over Memphis' every day of the week & twice on Sundays. Btw: "what" takes the cupcake (because infamous posters get cakes) for unlocking the achievement of "**** fan". What in the world would possess you to 1. Come on a Rockets board & ASK for suggestions on what teams to jump ship on to? 2. Publicly quit on your team & now try to get them to bring you back on board in a lobster net? I have no respect for you as a poster or a sports fan, you don't deserve recognition from any of us. Hell, if it was up to me I'd let you talk by yourself in a corner, but people sure do love feeding trolls like you on this board. Never thought I'd have to use the ignore feature but your posts give me diarrhea & i ****ing hate diarrhea.
It will be groovy to come back to these posts... Any moderately developed basketball brain can see the difference between Harden and a healthy Dwight, and Kobe and a Dwight that just had BACK SURGERY. Best pick and roll perimeter player, best pick and roll finisher. Two of the best defensive centers in the NBA. Rocket fans have every right to be confident. We know what championship teams look like. Does Memphis? Hint: The first thing you need is a great player. (Memphis has ZERO of those...)
I think Memphis is going to be one of those "bracket busters" for lack of a better term. They wont get to the finals, and theyre not a threat to the heat but I wouldn't be surprised if they knock off some of the better teams. I don't want to face them in the 1st round
Well it took the Rockets about 27 years and four #1 overall picks to get a championship. So give us a little more time and luck. This is just year 12 for us and no #1 overall picks ever.
That flip-flopping loser isn't even a Grizzlies fan anymore, he roots for the Toronto Chris Bosh's now that his favorite Gay guy is there.
I'm curious, I wonder if there's an average time it takes a team to win a ring from the time they started/joined the nba
Memphis might have zero number 1 picks in their history but they have also not been a very good drafting team over the past 6-7 years. The Grizz blew it on top 5 picks in 2008 and 2009. Curry, Harden, Love, or Westbrook would have gone a long way to fix the offensive struggles they have.
