Would you still be a Dwight fan if Howard was traded?

People here, including myself, have had our share of fun at the expense of "sour grapes" Lakers fans since the Dwight Howard signing. These same Lakers fans were celebrating when Dwight got there last year, too.

If Dwight were to leave the Rockets under similar circumstances (either a trade demand or a free agent signing in a few years), how do you thin you would react? Do you think we will be more rational and less bitter than the Lakers fans? Would you still appreciate his talent?

Thought this was a joke post after reading title, then realized it was a legitimate discussion.

Tbh, I think a lot of us would react like the salty Lakers fans but to a much lesser degree.

THe funny thing is that people were hating on Dwight while he was free agent. Blah blah blah i don't want this clown. Now its all crazy love about how awesome and funny he is.

I would be pretty mad, but considering we didn't have to give anything up to get him here, I wouldn't be mad for long.

Do you think we will trade him before he even plays a game. We even discuss something so stupid?

Well, since I am a fan of Dwight and not a fan of Howard, it wouldn't matter.

If Howard left, I'd go buy a TMac jersey for $1 in some resale shop and burn it

No. Because it would imply one of two things.

    1. He's truly a douche and was unable to get along with the rest of the players. In which case, I chalk it up to bad fit and gamble lost.

    2. The Rockets failed miserably for reasons outside of Dwight Howard, perhaps due to bad luck(Harden turn into Grant Hill) or Morey failed in delivering surrounding pieces.

Either way, I would just move on. The only way I would ever feel bitterness towards a player is a Pippen scenario.

TBH, I'm not a Dwight fan yet because I haven't seen him play one shift for the Rockets. I don't automatically become a fan just because a player has become a Rocket.

We just got the guy and we're already talking about when/if he leaves?

    1. if Dwight forces a trade, means we also get assests (Picks + Star players + role players) back to replace a disgruntled player who we didn't give up much to acquire. so its ok.

    2. if Dwight leaves through free agency after 3 years, he still has given us 3 good years of basketball during his prime...

I don't see any bad situation there...

i remember i called him kevin willis with longer arms in a center less league. but i was upset he acted the way he did when he was going to be traded here. He is a rocket now so he has won my heart over. if he left, i would no longer care. it be the same with anyone.

I'm not a Dwight fan -- at least not yet.

The fact that Harden made a very determined effort to get him to choose the Rockets over everyone else is getting me to keep an open mind regarding Dwight.

I have lots of reservations about Dwight.

So if he was to leave, it would not bother me at all....unless he decided to throw the Rockets under a bus, then I would be pretty upset.

I don't see Dwight Leaving us. Of course he would demand a trade and leave us if we suck the next 3 years. But I just don't see that happening. If we become a good team, with good chemistry he stays here for ever. But I wouldn't mind if he leaves, I won't be mad. But like I said I don't see him leaving.

God protect me from posts like this Carl. Are you actually comfortable with this thread? Or is it just pablum for the CF's masses?

I would. I have full confidence in Morey to guide this team in the right direction.

Besides, I'm used to losing franchise players. We lost Yao and Tracy :(

Can we just stop with all these hypothetical "how would you feel if this happened" threads?
