Their asses are safe since there is not a single front office guy for the Rockets or any Rockets fan that would offer or except any two Grizzlies players for either one of D12 or Harden.
Butthurt Memphis fans, that will never, ever win a ring. Soon, we will be adding to ours. Enjoy the rebuild!
supporting cast don't matter. all you need is 2 superstars and you'll be the #2 seed in the west and play a tough 7 game series to advance to the finals. this rockets team is LOADED, babbby!
LOL best season in Grizzlies history is tied for 4th in the West and a sweep in the Conference Finals. A sweep that might have not even happened if the previous team they played didn't lose a Top 10 player. Good times in Memphis. Their success story has inspired me.
the rockets have gotton out of the first round once in the last seventeen years with players like: Hakeem Charles Barkley Pippen Clyde Yao Stevie Franchise Mobley Battier Tmac Harden Scola Mutumbo Jim Jackson Metta World Peace Kyle Lowry ONCE! With all those players and that talent. On the other hand, the grizzlies have been a franchise for 19 years and have already went to the semis and the western conference finals in the last 3 years. Tell me again why the rockets are juggernauts. Coming the rockets is a complete waste of time and talent as: tmac, steve francis (forced a trade), pippen, barkley, yao all learned the hard way.
Harden is still young. He will learn and start playing team ball and defense and then watch out! we will be contenders again!
Very good way of framing your argument. Why not say that the Rockets have made it just as far as the Grizzlies in that same period (19 years). Making the Semis in 95/96 and the WCF in 96/97. That's ignoring the TWO CHAMPIONSHIPS that the team had in the two seasons prior to that. You are troll. Your team is a good team but they have most likely peaked. Randolph isn't getting any younger. Gasol is great but he isn't Howard. The Rockets may or may not be the better team this season, only the future can tell. KD 2.0 already got traded to the Raptors so you can give your championship dreams up.
"The Germans haven't attacked a single country in the lasst seventeen years, there's no way we should prepare at all for their assault." Signed, The French just before WWII. Statistics are nice and all. But when you use them to defy what is PAINFULLY CLEAR right in front of your eyes, statistics can be the most dangerous thing in the world.
because the point of it was to show you how BAD the rockets have been--not compare franchise accomplishments! Especially since the grizzlies were an expansion franchise and the rockets have had quite a long time, not to mention #1 overall picks, to actually get far in the playoffs. but the rockets have squander their opportunities, not to mention, several top superstars careers (tmac, yao and francis) to name the few glaring examples. so i am not really sure how rockets fans can be so arrogant with their team, seeing how they rockets never do anything in the playoffs since hakeem had a 2 year run. This franchise doesn't know how to win.
Did you not see what happened when you actually played a legit team? It was painful to watch. Beating the Westbrook less thunder shouldn't really be considered an accomplishment, hell, they barely made it past our squad last season in the first place.
The Rockets squandered McGrady and Yao's careers? As in...the Rockets organization intentionally injured them? LOL
Well, you're an idiot. If you want to compare T-Mac Yao to Harden-Howard, the honest answer is I don't know, because how well Howard will perform next season is a bit of a mystery. I will however state that I in fact would take Harden over T-Mac. Harden's first season blows out all of McGrady's seasons as a Rocket with the exception of 2004-05, where it becomes a little closer, though I'd still lean towards Harden. However, even if they aren't, the difference is supporting casts. Mcgrady-Yao had....Battier. That's about it. We have Parsons, Asik, and while you state Lin is bad, I'd take Lin over every other player that played with McGrady-Yao aside from Battier. So yeah, Harden-Howard will actually have a supporting cast this time, as opposed to your belief that we lost all our depth because Delfino is gone.
And you got swept by the Spurs! (U mad?) Let's forget the three years the Grizz got swept out of the first round (04-06). And can't we say the same thing about the Pau Gasol-Shane Battier years?
Let's call a truce and agree that the top 6 seeds in the West are going to be in a dogfight all season. The final rankings of the teams will be determined more by injuries, both major and nagging, than by the talent disparities of the teams. Seeding will not be determined by talent or coaching or depth, but by a chance collision of knees. I personally am looking forward to watching. I wish every team and fan the best, and I hope the West whips the crap out of the East in the finals.
Coming from a fan of a franchise with zero championships?? Are you ****ing serious. BTW you can frame every franchise that won a championship the way you did. "If you didn't have x you wouldn't have won." If the Bulls didn't draft Jordan they wouldn't have won If the Spurs didn't draft Duncan they wouldn't have won If the Mavs didn't draft Dirk they wouldn't have won Any general fan of the NBA would laugh their ass off if they heard a ****ing Memphis Grizzles fan stating that a franchise with 2 rings, 4 finals appearances, and multiple hall of famers doesn't know how to win. Get the **** out of here. Seriously, do you guys even have a single HOFer? WTF do you guys hang up in the rafters in your arena?
Until memphis gets a legit wing scorer they will never get far in the playoffs. They have great bigs but bigs are easier to contain if the guards that are feeding them the ball are not a threat to score consistently. The likes of Tony Allen, Tayshaun Prince, Quincy Pondexter etc are not players that are by any means consistent offensive scorers. Thus when Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph are struggling the entire offense becomes stagnant. Case-and-point the spurs series, Zach randolph struggled and they got swept. Now vs. the new look rockets the grizzlies do not match up well. Why? Well the rockets shored up their main weakness in last years's team by adding a 2nd superstar player who not only can carry a team with his offense but dictate the game with his defensive presence (dwight howard) Now memphis cannot throw all their defenders on James Harden because if they do then Dwight will punish them. Another taking point is post defense. By now having two elite big men of our own (dwight and omer) we can properly defend memphis's front line. This cannot be understated as there is a huge difference in Zach Randolph being guarded by DMO vs the likes of Omer or Dwight. All in all i believe Memphis will regress this year in a tough western conference. They lost an excellent coach who built that team on defense and stability. Not having Hollins is huge as he did an excellent job controlling the personalities on that team. They might win 50+ games but in the playoffs where Teams are exposed their lack of a consistent shot creator/maker will be exposed. Now if the grizzlies can somehow get a wing scorer i would label them as legit championship contenders. But it's obvious that their management is not willing to pay the luxury tax or spend money on winning as they fired the coach that put them back on the map.
Heh. My prediction for the Grizzlies is pretty much pain. Last year was their BEST shot. What did they do to improve their team exactly? The Clippers added Doc Rivers and JJ Reddick. The Thunder will get Westbrook back. The Rockets added Dwight and did not gut their team at all. The warriors got rid of useless players and added Iguodala The Spurs are the spurs until proven otherwise. What did the Grizzlies exactly do? Their core is old and unproven in the playoffs...why should we believe they will make that next step?
LMAO...we already saw Dwight Howard with an elite wing scorer last season. They barely made the playoffs. So now we just make believe last season did not happen? Is that how Rocket fans are going to act? Also, vs. the Rockets...Memphis has the two best defenders in the league at your stars positions. We won't even have to double team them at all. After that, the rest of the roster is average at best with little to no depth. The prediction of the Grizz regressing after improving their roster just does not make sense at all except to hype up your own team. It is much more likely that Howard is in a suit nursing a back injury with his recent history or the he regresses in level of play as he has done the last two years. But it is the offseason, it is the time for flowers and fantasies. Enjoy yours.
