Instead of derailing the site owner's threads with his brilliant Rockets analysis*, Grizzlies fans like 'what' can further enlighten us in here. Not very bold prediction: 1. Rockets will go further in the playoffs than the Grizzlies. 2. Rockets will win a championship before the Grizzlies. If 'what' wants a tip jar bet I will lay him 1:1 odds on 1. and 10:1 odds on 2. Whatever the amount. *
I absolutely laughed my ass of when Clippers came back from 20+ pts in the 4th and stole the Grizzlies souls. Still watch it for fun every now and then.
Offseason is far from over but as of right now I have the Grizzlies winning the West with an outside chance of getting to the finals. Think we will be a very good regular season team. Playoffs will depend upon what happens with Tayshaun as far as health and if we can sign a competent backup PG.
It's a rare strain of homerifica where not just most but all common sense is thrown out the window, commonly known as homerifica lakeris
I think that the Grizzlies lack an elite wing (any player who plays on the perimeter) that can carry a team for offensive stretches through play making or scoring, to relieve pressure from Gasol and Randolph down low. Without that type of player I don't see them ever winning a championship. All the elite teams are filled with dynamic wing players, that can carry teams for offensive stretches. Here's the wing players for all the elite teams from both conferences: EAST Miami - Lebron James/ Dwyane Wade Nets - Deron Williams Pacers - Paul George Bulls - Derrick Rose NY - Carmelo Anthony WEST: Spurs - Tony Parker/ Manu Ginobli Thunder - Russell Westbrook/ Kevin Durant Rockets - James Harden Warriors - Stephen Curry Clippers - Chris Paul They all have elite scorers or play makers. The Grizzlies don't have that. Mike Conley is a good PG, but he isn't elite by any means. He's in the "Goran Dragic and Kyle Lowry" category of PG's. In that he's an above average PG, but nothing special. No offense to Grizzly fans.
1) You have them "winning the West with an outside chance of getting to the finals". If they win the West, they are automatically in the Finals. What are you talking about? LOL 2) The Grizzlies are not winning the West. They got swept in the WCF, lost their coach, and many other teams in the West got better. That is pure delusion.
Why do you think the Grizz are the best team in the West right now...and why does their entire playoff hopes depend on a player (Prince) who's way past his prime and was a complete disappointment in last year's playoffs?
The rockets aren't close to being on the grizzlies level. First off, Harden Superstar can't score against Tony Allen and Marc Gasol is better than Dwight Howard. The grizzlies have Kosta to deal with Asik. Not sure what the rockets have that the grizzlies can't counter: a superstar? bwhahahahaha Again, ask any grizzlies fan or front office personnel if the grizzlies would do a deal for Marc Gasol for James Harden or Dwight and the grizzlies would laugh their asses off.
Just cut MemphisX some slack. He is a fan and some of the things I have seen posted by CF members on other teams sites makes me shudder. I personally applaud his fandom. And Memphis certainly has one hell of a team.
The Rockets would feel the same about the exact same deal. They would laugh at a Marc Gasol for Harden deal. The 2 players fit better on the teams they are currently on. Gasol is better for the Grizzlies while Harden is better for the Rockets.
