Might be a stupid question... What's the expectations on when Springer and Singleton get called up to the bigs?
Springer's the future at CF. Singleton would probably be better off spending 75% of the 2014 season at AAA. But, he should be manning first for the Astros for at least a decade.
Springer should be up anytime now. "Anytime now" means from here to September 1. Like I said, Singleton will probably be spending the majority of next season in Oklahoma City. Maybe next summer.
Anyone have the Baseball America writeup they did on the Astros for Aug 3? Need to be a subscriber to access...anyone?
When is he going to move up? If he doesn't move up until next year, are they going to keep him in the same league, or will they move him up through multiple ones if he continues his success?
I don't see Correa getting promoted until Fontana or DD get promoted. The jump from QC to Lancaster isn't a major jump anyhow, the jump to CC is the big one. One way or the other I think he finishes next year in CC. He certainly starts next season in Lancaster. If he tears up AA a Machado like promotion could happen in 2015. The Astros are gonna be cautious though. Singleton is certainly paying for his stupid decisions. He has basically cost himself an entire year for the drugs and not keeping himself in shape, he would probably be right there with Springer otherwise. He's probably never had any extended struggle in his entire career and he just assumes he can play well without trying. I hope it's a lesson to him and he learns moving forward.
I really hope Correa works his butt off in the gym this offseason. He still looks rail thin. I'd expect a big year for him next year. He's shown he can handle pro pitching, now he needs the power to show up, and from everything I've read from scouts, he has tremendous raw power.

It'll come, that is one thing I am not worried about. As Correa gets older he will start to fill out and eventually have a body type similar to Troy Tulowitzki.
