For those that like the NFL Films-produced 30-minute highlight show called NFL Yearbook, the Texans edition will be shown Friday, August 2 at 1:30am on ESPN2. I know it's a little ways off, but I thought I'd give a heads up for those that want to record it. If you miss the show, ABC13 will probably air it sometime in August. The Texans will also post it on their website sometime after it airs on ABC13. I'll bump this thread a day or two before the airing as a friendly reminder that it's coming up.
This doesn't deserve its own thread but will effect some of our guys post season: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...fl-ditches-pro-bowl-format-for-fantasy-draft/
I have always liked the Pro Bowl... but this is probably its death song. In trying to save/make it viable they seem to have killed it.
Such BS!!!! ESPN 2 says it's airing the yearbook right now--but it's NOT! They're showing a replay of NFL LIVE. WTF?/? I guess we'll have to wait until they show it on ABC, I think Saturday at 5:50pm. no respect.
That was a great show. I'm glad I stayed up to watch it. NFL Films does a good job putting together the highlights for these yearbook episodes. If you missed the show don't sweat it. ABC13 will air it this Saturday at 5pm. I think the Texans will post it on their website next week.
I just tried to watch it on my DVR. Naturally, the last 10 minutes are missing. **** ESPN. I guess they couldn't get away with taking a 30 minute commercial break so they did this instead.
They mention it early but yeah, all the major defeats, they barely mention those. I actually feel sort of disgusted by that though, I get these are meant to be up lifting for the fans but I'd prefer honest discussion on what went wrong in those games rather then saying "heroic effort" in a blowout playoff loss on our program and probably say dominating win in the Patriots' own.
Just for the hell of it, I watched the Jets yearbook to see if they'd show the buttfumble. They didn't, and they only showed the few games the Jets won. So it's no surprise that the Pats playoff game was put in a positive light (you'd have thought we actually won that game) and there's no mention of any other losses.
That's how most of these video yearbooks have been ever sine NFL films started asking them about 30 years ago. It's as close to positive propaganda one can get... Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I like hearing the radio calls synced up with the live action. We all know the team lost and its easy to focus on the negative and forget all the positives this team actually has.
