Sorry Kobe, Harden is the best shooting guard in the NBA now.

Who cares, Harden is great and they're both combo guards anyway

If Harden's defense improves this season then no doubt he'll be consider the best SG even if Kobe miraculously comes back 100 percent healthy from his injury. Last season was debatable.

If this thread was titled correctly it would say "Sorry Kobe, LeBron is the best player in the NBA now.". I am as big a Kobe hater as the next American (Commie Californians aren't American ;)) but when you talk about Kobe you don't put him in just a category of position. As of now, he is considered the greatest of his generation! Harden is just a big time scorer/playmaker right now and currently falls in the Penny Hardaway , Brandon Roy, Agent 0 class where everyone is excited about what he is doing right now, and rightfully so, but he is a serious injury away from being lost in the vast obscurity of NBA history. I want Harden to take the reigns of the NBA just like the rest of y'all but even talking about him in comparison to Kobe even at this point in Kobe's career is premature. Just saying.

I think you completely misunderstand. No one is comparing Kobe's career to Harden's career, they are comparing Kobe's ability to play basketball this upcoming season to Harden's ability to play basketball this upcoming season.

Kobe was certainly great, but you don't put people on the top of current lists just because of the player they once were otherwise Jordan would still be considered the best SG in the NBA.

Huh? This info must have come from the illegal NSA spying on Americans. This is just plain delusional at this stage.

I swear we had KEVIN MARTIN two years ago! Now we have Harden who is a million times better and yet clutchfans still underrates him. James is hands down the best two guard in the league. People say kobe just because he has been around longer but let's not forget how bad the "stacked" lakers were last year.

James on the other hand led a team of average NBA players to the playoffs while averaging 26 points as the MAIN option on this team. Not to mention he had an insane True shooting percentage only topped by Lebron and Durant!

Some of you guys need to stop being so "objective" and give harden more credit.

First of kobe has a killer instinct that got them to the playoffs. He went absolutely nuts at the end of last season only to have a possible career ending injury. I love harden but he isn't on Kobe's level.

Without Kobe's "Killer Instinct" last year Harden led the Rockets to the exact same record as the Lakers despite having 3 less hall of famers on his team.

With Kobe it's no longer appropriate to use the present tense when talking about him. Say "Kobe had a killer instinct" rather than "Kobe has". Harden wasn't on Kobe's level, but now Kobe's level is a guy who can barely walk. Keep that in mind.

what are you talking about?? james was taking over games in the 4th as soon as he got here. hes the closer the rockets hadnt had in 4-5 years.. i can think of 3-4 games off the top of my head where he iced games in the 4th this year alone. hes also done it in okc as well..he slowed down towards the end of the year, but i guess its what you remember most since it more recent... lets just completely ignore the games like detroit and atlanta that he single handedly put away in the 4th, the okc game where he hit clutch shot after clutch shot, the game winner against san antonio, clutch shots in brooklyn, 17 pt 4th to beat minny, 16 pt 4th to beat cleveland.. LATE GAME PROWESS..

The legend of Kobe Bryant will always be far greater than the actual player while he's still in the league.

While Harden was a terrible defender (mostly because of not putting in any effort) last season, this is hardly the thread to bring that up - Kobe's been a terrible defender for a number of seasons.

While I haven't read the article (seems it's not worth it), I have no problem with the general conclusion.

State that this is an article in the subject line so I don't have to rush into the thread to crucify you. Thanks.

Haha....no...I love harden. But I think Kobe is in a different category all together. One that Harden will reach one day.

Delusions fellow poster. Kobe has the body of a 35, 36 year old and with his mileage he should be feeling like an old man.

Fear an old man with a killer instinct.
