To me, a player fan is not a real Rockets Fan.

I admit, Lin brought me back to Rockets. But I am not a Lin fan, I am a fan of the team. I like Dwight, I like Harden and as long as the team wins, I am happy.

If Lin is traded, will I still follow Rockets? Yeah. But does that lower my fanhood as a Rockets? Maybe.

I just personally can't stand a player fan wanting the best for a single individual but not the team. That kills me.

Maybe some of you know better than me. I just don't like a player fan when you don't like the team.

With all due respect, I haven't read a post so completely full of **** in a very long time, which is saying something, considering the cornucopia of crap posts one wades through here in order to get to the good stuff. You should be ashamed. At least you got one thing right... your post was horrible.

Wow lof are showing themselves by voting. This is so much diffrent then the tmac controversy. At least tof were arguing for a top player in the league at the time, not a role player who just brings a big following.

I voted 'No' just because I think this poll is stupid and wanted to watch the world burn.

I really like Lin; I think he has loads of unrealized potential. I think he will get better. I have always questioned whether he is really starter material, but I am willing to see what happens. Many players that I liked have been traded. For example Scola and Goran.

I became a Rockets fan after being a huge fan of Linsanity and being tired of James Dolan BS. Since then I have come to love Chandler Parsons, see the potential in D-mont, appreciate Kevin McHale's attempts at coaching, rejoice in Dwight's decision, and come to witness the greatness of James Harden. IMO, Jeremy Lin will greatly help the team achieve its goal of a championship by living up to his contract and continually growing as a player in all aspects (similar to his progression numbers from 2nd half of the season on).

I would remain a Rocket fan if Lin were traded, however my interest in them would drop dramatically.

If Lin is traded, China money will follow Lin out. THat's painful to watch for any owner. Les wont trade Lin,

I am a Lin fan. But can you explain why NYK let lin go, follow the same logic?

    1. Les offered a huge contract to Lin to scare away Knicks. (Knicks wondered why too.)

    2. NYK had no China link. They did not know what they were losing.
Les knew it better than anyone after Yao was retired.

Personally I hate team Owner leading the primary role in decision making. I just don't like that. The perfect example is Dallas Cowboys. Seriously!

    Basketball is basketball!

If it is really Les that hold Lin, I would be really disappointed.

That's a question that Les and Morey should be asking their Chinese mainland affiliates... hahaha.

There's a reason Les wanted Lin back Asap after Linsanity in NYK. 8 million a year is more than worth it to Les.

    lol

Les has and will always have Yao. He is like God over there. Kobe is more popular than Lin. Even Harden is more popular.

    May I ask a question?

How on earth does Chinese $$ flow into Rockets Franchise? People in China watch national TV and don't have to pay a buck. Fanbase is fanbase, but nothing is really like in United States where fans can buy tickets and jerseys.

I don't think the TV Money is that great either. It is not like CSN Houston has to pay Rockets to broadcast and make some TV $$.

I think the Chinese influence is overrated, period, at least in this Current Rockets Franchise.

Maybe someone can help me know better on this thing.

    OK

Even if you don't go to the games you have to see the Chinese characters plastered all over the place. Also that TV deal is big. Of course not as big as a tv deal in the states. Also outside the team Les has partnerships with Chinese firms. He had these already before Lin came along because of Yao. Yao is still affiliated with the team and is also a spokesman with many firms that Les deals with. Les and Yao are close to say the least. He may have made his first billion off of wall street but he has has made his next billions here in Houston.

The reason he stole Lin from Knicks is he wanted to tweak that teams nose and Dolan. He is a born and raised New Jersey boy but is not accepted in the high society of New York.
