You think the kid who is taught this word at an early age knows the spelling of it and the context?

Country & Western concert - check
Sunglasses resting on head - check
    Sleeveless shirt - check

All that's missing is the plastic horse testicles hanging from the rear bumper.

Suspend him four games, and let's move on.

Probably been mentioned but the difference is white people created the word to put down black people so when a white person uses it today it's put into that context.

Wow, why are some people so dumb. "Black people are being hypocritical," "I am sure some of his black teammates have called a white person a honkey or a cracker!"

Is is the most proper etiquette for blacks to call each other n---as, probably not but that is no where the same as some drunk country white person spewing it out of hate threatening someone black.

Yeah I am gonna go with one you cannot even spell on TV, what a joke.

did you just say drunk country white person? in your context you generalized a group of people with a form of hatred. not all drunk country white people would use the N word.

This is the perfect example of why i hate this being blown out of porportion. having to listen to someone tell me and the rest of black people how to act. any discussion of this word leads to the same conversation.

Anyways, he clearly said the word with some hate behind it. He thought the camera's were off, and his true colors were revealed.

Why is using that word so important to you? Like my mom used to tell me when the neighbors kid was allowed to stay out past when the street lights turned on. Worry about yourself.

    so overblown and stupid.

he was just mad at the time and the security guard was black, so he said it out of anger. doubt he's racist, but what's up with Florida and these "racist" situations popping up recently? lol

and just to make a point, saying homophobic slur is no big deal and just a slap on the wrist with a fine, but we're talking about this guy losing his job over a racial slur? i get it that he has black teammates, but still, just seems so overblown.
