Heard the map is 3.5 times bigger than red dead's map and if you include the underwater it's 5 times bigger .. RDR is HUGE ... absolutely boggles the mind
I'm happy that it isn't a next generation title , give me something to play while waiting for the price drop .I wonder what Rockstar will be working on next ? Another RDR type game would be cool
I vaguely recall some hinting at a new RDR game recently, although I didn't follow up on it. I wouldn't necessarily count on it (despite strong rumors discussing it), but if Rockstar wants, they can release GTA V on next-gen consoles. I think they already talked about a PC version coming later (or maybe I'm just assuming it will come, like usual). Don't think it would take much more work to come up with a "special edition" for PS4 and XB1. It would likely be a bit after release though, so unless you are willing to wait (possibly for something that won't happen), just get it for PS3/360.
From what I understand, it's not like San Andreas, at least as far and you tediously needing to maintain your skills. I still expect it to be like you improve the skills you use the most. So the more you shoot, drive, fly, etc... the more you improve those skills. But you won't lose skills through neglect like in SA. You won't lose muscle or gain fat and don't have to feed yourself. So kind of similar but also kind of not.
The CEO of Take Two recently made these comments: [rquoter]"Our goal is to try to create permanent franchises," he said. "That's the unique goal in the industry. "Our competitors do not see it that way. Our competitors' view is that our franchise will have a certain life, and at the end of that life, you move onto the next thing, so you better make hay while the sun shines. Our view is to the contrary. The best franchises are permanent franchises. "Outside of our business you can look at James Bond, for example. And it's been our goal not just to preserve and grow the Grand Theft Auto franchise, but also to build other franchises that we think can be permanent, whether that's the Red Dead franchise or the Borderlands franchise or the BioShock franchise or others, Civilization, for example."[/rquoter] So it sounds like they consider Red Dead to be a permanent franchise which would obviously mean multiple sequels.
I think you're probably right. That's awesome. I'll definitely get the game, and probably pre-order it just so I have access to fly the blimp. I'm really excited about the game right now, and just hoping that skill maintenance won't be a distracting part of it. It might be an okay option as has been mentioned on the hardcore level or something.
I have a PS3 but really don't want to get it for it. Really wish they would release the PC date. Probably a year away though. meh.
thats what I loved about it though. such an awesome game. if it was made this gen or next on a blu-ray drive....
Agreed, I'm tempted to wait it out until a slim version comes out, but I really want to get elder scrolls online when it comes out. Actually, I'd be down for another bully game.
Well, everyone has their own likes and dislikes. It's fine if you liked having to keep working out or getting fat, or other things to keep your skills from deteriorating. I liked The Sims. That was a fine game. I just didn't like it mixed in with my Grand Theft Auto. But San Andreas was popular so plenty of people probably enjoyed it. Maybe it will be an option that can be turned off/on or just part of the extra hard mode or maybe you can increase skills but won't have them decrease or grow fat if you don't do it. When I'm not on missions, I like stealing cars driving, scouting out the city, finding some side missions if possible. In the new game where so much more is available, I'd love to play tennis, go hunting, scuba diving, and all of that. I don't want to have to do a certain amount of workout time or have my character get fat. That's not what I like in the game. I understand there would probably be people that love those kinds of details. To me it just detracts. The game isn't out yet, and I'm just trying to gather what it's going to be like based on one 4:50 game play video. So who knows right now what it will be like. Maybe there will be a way we can both be happy.
If you thought keeping CJ fed and in shape was tedious, imagine doing it for 3 characters. When you play as one character, the other 2 go on about their normal business. On mission or off. So we'll just assume they're taking care of themselves when you're playing as someone else.
If it doesn't come out on the next gen id be very disappointed. Its taken over 5 years for GTA 5 to come out after 4, your telling me i have to play gta 5 on the 360 for the next 5 years until 6 comes out on the new gen? **** that. I'm getting the next gen as soon as it comes out and chucking my 360, V better come out on next gen.
