Kevin Garnet, one ring cannot justify his talent and heart.

I agree totally with everything else you said and can even understand why you say he underachieved in the playoffs. However, It should be noted that the dude had a top 5 all-time playoff scoring average (before playing meaningless minutes with ATL and the Spurs)

LOL are yall kidding me!!! Gilbert Arenas!?!?! Im admitting this and im a huge fan of this guy. Out of this list Steve Francis was the most disappointing. The guy only played in 5 playoffs games in his whole career. Never led a winning team.

I can't you believe you forgot Stephon Marbury. Got signed to a max contract before the money made him go off the deep in. Tattooed that stupid emblem on his head and started eating Vaseline. He even got cut overseas shortly after dropping out of the NBA...

People like to forget that KG was a perennial first round exit year after year until Sam Cassell came in and led that team to the Western Conference Finals.

    I say Grant Hill.

Could have been a legend if he would have stayed healthy.

The answer is McGrady easily. The others can be "what ifs..." McGrady actually had a short run of absolute dominance. He was 1-2 with Kobe for a short stretch. So he did in fact reach that rarified air for a few years.

His 02-03 season was one of the top 10 individual regular seasons of ALL-TIME.

And I wouldn't say Allen Iverson had a disappointing career. He won an MVP. One of the top leading scorers (average-wise) in the history of the league. Went to the Finals. Hes on his way to the Hall-of-Fame easily.

    Rasheed Wallace.

He had more talent and a better skill set then both KG and Duncan. He just never had the drive or killer instinct to want to BE THE MAN. Seriously, Sheed could do it all. Killer athleticism, could block shots, automatic jumper, nice back to the basket post game, had range to knock down 3's, soft touch for a big man with good court vision and could pass the rock. Looking back he won his ring and had a nice career but I feel like he could've been so much better if he wasn't so content not being the #1 guy.

The Pistons don't win in 2004 without him. That mid-season trade was Drexler-esque for them. I mean, that has to count for something, right?

And to me, the biggest should-have-been-better PF was definitely Chris Webber. He's easily one of the most naturally skilled PF's to ever play the game of basketball. It's a shame that chronic injuries (and a little bad luck) prevented him from being better. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?

Most of the ppl on this board seem to think otherwise. A lot of "AI sucks" on here. Either they're kids and/or LBJ nuthuggers. Dunno but Iverson was phenomenal. Practice comment be damned.

I agree with almost everything you said except one part. I am a big fan of Barkley, as a player, a commentator and a personality. If he ever becomes a GM, I will be rooting for him (except against the Rockets). However, he did not do everything he could to get the most out of his career. He was a hard living, hard partying guy who did not take care of his body (as Malone did) and his prime and his career were cut short.

Mind you, I am not judging him. His zany fun loving wild personality is what gave him the edge to be as successful as he was -- his flaw that shortened his career was inseparable from the unique personality that drove him to success. He gave maximum effort every night and got more from his 6-4 frame than almost anyone else could get. However, it is reasonable to think he may look back at his career and regret not taking better care of himself.

Most Iverson detractors don't say Iverson sucked. They point out his style of play that did not mesh well with team ball. That's why he didn't win big.

The so-called Finals appearance was tainted because the Eastern Conference that year was arguably the worst competitive of all time. If that Philly team were in the West, they would have been eliminated in the first round. So Iverson was lucky to be playing in a time when his conference sucked so bad. In those years, everybody knew that the real Finals were the WCF.

Iverson was playing with a lot of talents in Denver and never really made the team better. So in that sense, Iverson is similar to players like Francis and perhaps Anthony. They are very talented but cannot win big because of their style.
