Terrence Jones arrested in Portland for stomping on homeless man

I agree with this.

It doesn't seem like he was picking on him because he is homeless.

Which was my point earlier about why it doesn't make sense for people to be harping on the fact that the man is homeless as if they are trying to garner even more sympathy.

He tripped over a guy and hit/kicked/stomped/whatevered and yelled at him out of frustration.

He couldn't have hit him that hard. It's one thing to give a little forceful nudge/kick and another thing to "stomp" on him like the sensationalized news stories are trying to make us believe.

And I really don't know what happened. Neither do any of you. But if I had to guess, I'd put money on it being that Jones tripped, and out of frustration yelled and gave a kick to the guy like you'd do to your brother. Not a kick to cause any real damage.

Then you and I agree Cat. It isn't Jones finest hour but no he doesn't deserve to be cut or even necessarily suspended. As far as I know he has never been in trouble before and is obviously paying the price for being a dick, he was arrested, labeled as a low life on the news and is humiliated.

And we get back to my original analyses.

And what will this mean for Jone’s future on the Rockets? First off it means that Jones is going to have to have buy in from Les and Morey and McHale. If any one of the three finds Jones actions to be repugnant then he is effectively done as a Rocket. Second it means that he has to have forgiving team mates. Especially Howard and Harden. Parsons also but he is such a bro that I do not see his opinion as a problem. Third it has to die down quickly because if it continues the Rockets pollsters may find it impacts the public perception of the Rockets. If that happens he will have a one way ticket out of town.

All in all Jones future as a Rocket is certainly muddled at best. If everything does not fall his way we will be saying goodbye.

LOL. Are you willing to wager your hard earned capital on Mr. Jones prospects of being a Rocket in 11 months? Thought not. In my mind he is already gone.

I have been wrong in the past. Many times. And we both know that if we adhere to the bet and lose we just create a new CF account. I therefore prefer a Vegas brokered cash wager.

Sorry, but being an ******* isn't a crime.

"Back in the day" police officers were really peace officers who would have intervened to make sure nothing serious happened.

Nothing serious is alleged to happen here and yet tens of thousands of dollars are going to be spent on judges, lawyers, police officers, etc.

Misdemeanor harassment? What does that even mean in the criminal sense of being able to seize a man's liberty or property? This is freedom?

Was the man partially blocking the sidewalk causing a tripping hazard charged with loitering? Mr. Jones could have been seriously injured by tripping and falling on the sidewalk.

Walking on a sidewalk is not negligent. Sleeping with your leg sticking out onto a sidewalk is.

There is absolutely no guarantees on either side that we would not create another account at CF account. Cash is so much more indicative of what we actually think.

I think we are reaching a dead end at this argument.

Personally can't you just enjoy the ride with our new team? One mistake by a young player. And I agree it should not have happened but it happened during a time when there was no training camp or preseason. Actually about 1-2 months away. The NBA has seen a lot worse.
You believe a hobo more than our player? Lol then you are a fine Rocket fan.
Of course he will tell you something on TV because he is freakin on Television. His 15 seconds of fame. Overblowing this feels natural.
