Certainly not. But given that an incident has occurred it is far more likely that an incident will occur in the future. Statistics.

It depends on who you are talking about. If you are talking about somebody thugging it out on the streets, then yeah, I can see that.

But 99% of us have done stupid **** when we were young. Do we continue to do stupid **** all of our lives? No. We grow up and don't get into trouble ever again.

I personally do not put any merit into what the homeless man is saying. Earlier someone stated that the man had a record of heroine possession as well as sexual charges. He hit the jackpot. He will never have this opportunity to come into money again; based on his current and previous 18 years of economic position. Honestly, he would be stupid to do anything but stick to the story. But, I do agree that something happened and hope that a little more light can be shined on the details.

Even if he accidentally tripped over a sleeping homeless person (with 7 other people with him), in a well lit area, he would be a douche for screaming at the guy. I am on my IPhone so I cannot check but I believe the report is that he screamed at the guy first and then stepped on him.

Jones isn't a thug, he was obviously upset at his arraignment and as far as I know has never been in trouble. This is Kobe Bryant raping a teenager or Floyd Mayweather beating another girlfriend.. This was a douche move by a guy that will probably never do it again.

And honestly is that a bad thing? It does make their life easier don't you think? Or should I just stomp on the leg of a sleeping man?

If a vague, accused misdemeanor incident -- which is all we have confirmed, at this point -- is enough for you to condemn a guy and want him off the team, then you need to stop following professional sports. Because I can assure you that over 50% (probably a lot more) of the players you follow have done far worse.

Just stick with your church and your rich upper burbs community and I think you'll be a lot happier. Pretend life is a lot simpler than it is.

Yes, that is a bad thing. I shouldn't have to explain to you why.

It's pretty clear the "report" is in question. The initial release said he stomped, and now the actual charge says he didn't. As a result, it would seem prudent to wait for more information before making an assumption one way or another.

I agree that it's immature, but it's nothing horrible. If that's a douche, I'd wager 90% of NBA players would fall under that. He said he apologizes, takes responsibility for it and wants to improve. That's enough for me, if the incident is on the low end of the scale.

I don't think this scenario would make him a douche. If I had had a couple and tripped over a homeless man in the middle of the sidewalk, I wouldn't put it past myself to yell something in that ballpark. I would categorize that more as being a drunk idiot; which should be obvious that I've been guilty of.

WOW. I am impressed. You do take on such a judgmental role. I am just saying that I am appalled with Mr. Jones inhumanity. Life for millionaires is actually much less complex than the life of the poor. And unfortunately Noblesse Oblige is a forgotten art in our society.

The guy says he isn't guilty, hasn't had his day in court, is accused of a misdemeanor charge that the police have already somewhat recanted on, and you're placing the guy's professional livelihood in serious doubt. And somehow I'm the judgmental one here? That's rich.

The homeless man, whom was sleeping, suddenly and magically recognizes T. Jones and realizes he has a chance to make a lot of money? Not likely... Now AFTER he learned that Jones was an NBA player I am sure he wants to be compensated.

Jones needs to pay the guy $25,000 to not file a civil suit and not testify at the criminal trial. Tell the media in a statement that he tripped over the man and it was a misunderstanding and never speak of it again.

Okay, lets try it this way. Who has told you to "demonize" Jones? All anyone has done is state their own opinion. If anything you simply have to be able to accept facts without prejudice and be able to be honest with yourself about what seems to have happened.

I'm just going to type this one more time, it makes no difference if he stomped or kicked the homeless guy. Either is harassment, especially coupled with yelling at him without provocation.

Knowing this Jones' lawyer isn't even claiming any of the stuff you are arguing... that he accidentally kicked the guy or nudged him to give him a dollar. You seem to think it's some kind of excuse or mitigating factor to kick a sleeping dude but none of that makes a difference. The lawyer is claiming Jones did nothing and didn't even touch the guy. The entire thing with "stomp" doesn't make sense, you guys are literally arguing about some burden of proof about the word "stomp" as if that means anything. If there's a distinction stomp means he put him foot down on someone and kick means he hit him with his toes. Either way he's harassing a sleeping victim. The only possible thing you can argue to absolve him is what the lawyer is saying... that none of it happened at all. The minor injuries visible on the victim (probably a bruise) is the police and victim collaborating to get a couple thousands dollars from Terrance Jones because the cop hates basketball players, the Houston Rockets, tall people or black guys.

Also are you mad a the press or at the charge? You can be mad at the press that's fine. The police didn't release anything, the press reported from the police report which the officer is legally required to file for an arrest. I have absolutely no idea where you're reading about the police recanting and admitting and all that stuff.

Then why isn't he charged with ASSAULT? He's charged with HARASSMENT, a class B MISDEMEANOR. If a POLICEMAN witnessed this VIOLENT HEINOUS CRIME why wasn't he charged with something more serious? TJones pleaded NOT GUILTY. Last time I checked we were still in AMERICA where you are PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.

This guy said he has been homeless for 18 years. He obviously wants to be homeless.

Don't make him out to be some poor soul who is just down on his luck.

No one is going to dispute a police sargeant's testimony successfully. It is not how the system works. And if anyone chooses to dispute his testimony they will be subjected to a vindictive prosecutor. Good luck to him.
