I'm not offended at all, but it seems like a lot of CFers here would be saying very different things if the video were racist to blacks instead of Asians. Trayvon Martin thread is a prime example of how race plays into perspectives like these.
I didnt listen to audio, only watched the images. Maybe the audio depicts something different All I see is that its liking asian girls to be the same trashy band groupie and rap vixen types like everyone else. If anything it seems more "assimilation" in that way. By rassiss stuff I was expecting some of them old time "oriental" stereotypes. Some martial arts and geishas and way worse. Yeah that was my thought even before looking at it Its a "Stuff White People Like" thing (asian women) being more comfortable projecting it mainstream now.
I thought it was possibly a joke, because it was so damn blatantly racist, but the other songs on their channel are just crappy bland late 90s early 2000s nu metal. They are like an even sh**tier version Crazy Town. These guys seem to be truly stupidly racist morons But also, that David So guy is f***ing annoying as hell. Is there a less offensive way to say "chigger?" Add that annoying personality with the annoying youtube jump cut vlog style that so many assholes use and I wish that these guys had just made an offensive song about David So instead. "You're my Asiaaaan Vlogger stop acting like you are black. Asiaaaaan Vlogger You use jump cuts cuz you're a hack." Anyways, I have nothing but ill will for everybody involved here...except for the girl in the video, even with those tats, she's still fine as hell.
That was my first thought too. If people don't think this is racist just consider if instead of "Asian Girl" it was "Black Girl" and they were singing about big booty, fried chicken and watermelon with line that said "Grits all over you" instead of "tofu all over you." That said I am not so much offended by the content of the song as I am by how crappy and douchebaggy the song and the band is.
