Did Yahoo specifically put a picture with Lin next to Jones so they could get more hits to the article?

    It's a good picture of T Jones.

And they wanted to show Lin turning his back on T Jones in disapproval after the stomping incident.

Patrick Beverley is more righteous than Lin.

What's the surprise here? He is a NBA player, and the league is full of the guys like that.

Also, Motiejunas is far more thuggish than Jones. Those Eastern Europeams are all mixed in with organized crime. I have watched Eastern Promises and thus know these things. Wouldn't be surprised if DMo has killed a few people in saunas.

This is why I said earlier (and got flamed immediately) to not be so quick to judge Jones in this case.

I've spent alot of time in Portland, and the downtown area there is probably worse than Austin with homeless folks.... many of which, are there by their own free will. In Houston and New Orleans its a whole other sad story.

That being said... WE REALLY DONT KNOW exactly what happened.... so its pretty sad that most people are so quick to cast stones.

What we do know is that Terrence wasn't very smart that night when he had too much to drink, and made a dumb decision to do anything that even LOOKS out of line when there is a cop around.

You know and I know that on 6 street in Austin (much like 3rd st. in Portland), the cops can throw you in the drunk tank for just about anything. If the cop saw a guy walking down the street (that was obviously drunk), and a homeless man "claims" he just said wake up and kicked him, he technically can't just let him walk away.

So that's all we know right now. Everyone here writing him off (and wanting him traded???) needs to just calm the F down, and stop being so dramatic. If you've been to bars in Portland, or Austin, you can see how this type of crap could happen.

It seems to me like they were giving some kind of "credit" to Lin. Maybe Yahoo should be applauded for that.

Total jerk move, very disappointing. Not the first early-20s guy to do something stupid at 2 am. It will be interesting to see how he goes from here. He seems to be showing some contrition at the court house (could be just feeling sorry for himself.) If he gains some maturity from this, he will get past it.

No way the Rockets cut him for this unless they have someone they would rather play over him.

His a cop I think he knows what an assault is.

You don't accidentally stomp on a homeless man.

I'm gonna hold out my comments until this works it's way through court. I guess I just really don't want to believe it.

    Wool, meet eyes.

Please stop it with the excuse-making. There is not one single way that you can spin this that makes it acceptable.

These days you really have to put up with a lot in order to be a devoted sports fans... whether it be PED's (and lying about using PED's) or stuff like this. Sucks, but I hope he can take something from this and learn to be respectful.
