I use it at work all the time and probably look at it 20 times a day

It helps, for one it is faster. But whenever I'm taking a test (AP test, SAT test, etc) and we have to put our phones away, having a watch is very helpful. But of course this doesn't apply to most people....

Functionality always out-weighs esthetics, and the function of keeping time is a high priority when I step out.

Favorite watch: Seiko Titanium...working on my second now.

This is a good reason, but not enough for me to go back to wearing one. Stopped about 8 years ago.

In ten years, watches will be able to do everything smartphones can do, and people will be asking why anyone carries a phone anymore when their watch makes them obsolete.

because it is easier to look at my wrist than it is to pull a phone out of a pocket and hit a button to turn the screen on.

That's a nice thought - I'd much rather wear a watch and free up my pocket than stuff and lug these giant phones around. I'm sure my testicles would thank me.

I use both my watch and phone to do time checks, but i find I use my watch more to check what time it is (am i on time, late, early, etc) but find the time more incidentally using my phone (oh i have a new message, oh, it's also 5:46am)

There are plenty of work situations where cell phone use is unacceptable either for safety or security issues. I recall, this also applies to school exam/quiz taking situations.

Let's face it. It makes you look and feel better. Having the weight and coolness of solid stainless stain on your wrist feels indescribably good.

Basically, what bracelets are to women, watches are to men.

Wear a watch if you think you have swag.

When you head into a meeting room and you're wearing a ****ty watch you immediately lose some credibility within that room.

However if you walk into that room with an IWC, Breitling, or a Tag people tend to take you more seriously. (Unless you are the company jackass)

    Um... ewww?

Even if it feels good, you should probably get that checked by a dermatologist.
