I'm not clueless. Boxing and MMA are hobbies of mine. Sorry to crush your fantasies of a tiny guy being able to beat a gigantic guy, but sometimes size is too much to overcome. I'm just being realistic.

You guys act like Manny can just walk up to Yao and punch him in the stomach 20 times unhindered, and Yao will fall like a sack of bricks.

I'm sorry, but that isn't realistic at all.

And to those of you bringing Tyson into this, Tyson was a heavyweight boxer who was known for rushing and fighting inside. That is his style, and he was big and strong like a bull.

    Pacquiao is tiny.

Tyson and Pacquiao are totally different scenarios.

LOL what MMA skills are going to be used on Yao? Is Manny going to be able to even take him down? And then what? Try putting those tree trunk legs in a leg lock

I've wrestled in high school, trained in martial arts for 2 decades, and trained in boxing in Pasadena....I've trained all my life in the art of fighting. you don't have a clue.

Very low takedown, and work for an arm bar, it's been done many times.

So have I. We may have different opinions, but that doesn't mean either one of us is clueless.

This is the first thing I thought of:

Not exactly the same... but similar.

Here is a video of Minowaman taking the fight to the ground and landing a heel hook:

Choi Hong Man is a lazy pos who's never been a good fighter anywhere.

And that was a long fight. Minowaman is WAY more skilled. But the fight took so long simply because of the size difference.

That is exactly my point. Hong Man Choi sucks... but fighters like Minowa have trouble with him because he's so freaking big. He's nowhere near as skilled.

And Minowa isn't just a boxer. He does it all.

Pac is a lightweight boxer, not a wrestler or mma

You guys really don't realize how good pro boxers are. I've seen Jesus Chavez(140 lbs at the time) lay out a heavy weight pro boxer twice in a sparring round with head gear. It would be different if Yao had fast hands like Dream but he doesn't. If somehow Yao got Pac on the ground and laid on him, then he would have a chance. Otherwise, Pac would just him mid section and Yao would crumple to the ground in seconds.

Yao is tall yet so slow and with his slow ass reflexes, all Pac has to do is hit him in the balls and Yao will drop down to his knees giving Pac a clear shot at his face and look out for the combo punch by Pac and Yao will be out in seconds... I don't understand why anyone would pick Yao just because he's tall???

But one thing you aren't taking into account is that a fight is not a boxing match.

I'm not saying Pacquiao couldn't win. I'm saying it's not as simple as "Pac would hit Yao's mid-section until he crumples to the ground".

What if Yao simply ran at Pacquiao and bear hugged him? Something as simple as that, which isn't allowed in boxing, how does Pacquiao deal with that?

I don't even know if Pacquiao could land on Yao's chin. And even if he did, at that angle, what kind of power would he have?
