First of all, you claimed that Lin was a bad finisher (which he is obviously not based on at-rim and close to rim field goal percentage). You're now saying that he was not superstar-level like Harden. I guess it's a lot easier to change the goal posts instead of admitting that you're wrong. Second of all, Lin is actually a very efficient driver to the basket. In the 2011-12 season with the Knicks, Lin averaged 8.0 drives to the basket per game, and on average the team scored 1.31 points on those drives, making him one of the league's leaders, and about as efficient as Dwyane Wade, John Wall and Derrick Rose. According to a Grantland article from February that unfortunately no longer exists, with the Rockets Lin averaged "8.1 drives per game, ninth among all players" and the Rockets "scored 1.32 points per possession when Lin drives — about what the Spurs have scored on Parker drive possessions."
dude.. what are you doing? going by his posts, he obviously does. not. care. he's posting to get a rise out people like you. save yourself some time and stop responding. do you really think this guy cares if he's right or not?
No Not at all. The difference is Lin misses one of the easiest shots possible because he is inefficient. Harden missed because he was fouled.
Anyway I would like to refer you to the efficiency ratings I posted earlier. Hardens was at a Superstar level and Lins was...mmm...well...kinda down below that level.
Wow. I saw Lin does have a pretty good FT%. Then I saw the difference in how MANY Harden has had and Lin.Want me to post those?
I think its more so because the majority of his three pointers were wide open shots. He's not like Harden or Parsons in where they're going to take some contested threes off the dribble. A good amount of his threes were wide open, spot ups coming off a pass. Considering his shot selection, he should be shooting upwards of 40%. Which may seem unfair, but again given his shot selection (very efficient) that should reflect in those percentages. That being said, if Jeremy Lin is naturally a god awful shooter, then we'll never know since he's so conservative with his three point attempts. You never see this dude run down the court and throw up a contested heat check, or force a fadeaway three.
Actually, Parsons barely ever took contested 3s off the dribble. And while Lin certainly did have his fair share of open 3s, it wasn't as many as how much Parsons had. And I think the statistic was like 70% of Parsons made field goals came off a pass, most likely spot ups assisted by Harden and Lin.
Sounds like Parson doesn't really create his own shots. I think he always use the same pump fakes. Hope he learned some new moves off season.
According to BR, 92% of Parsons 3s were assisted, 83% of Lin's were assisted. Which would seem to imply that Lin shot more 3s off the dribble. This makes sense, as Lin was certainly much better at Parsons at creating space for his shot. It's certainly one of his best skills.
