Agreed, and it was a somewhat risky move for to trade for a talented yet oft-injured SS, but it certainly paid off for us. That's why I said that in retrospect, you can argue that it was a fleecing.

Hoping we deal with Pittsburgh or Arizona. I think we can get a good prospect out of them, not so sure about Baltimore.
It certainly went wrong for Boston on both ends. Jed, upon leaving suddenly got healthy and Melancon upon arriving did his best Ambriz impersonation. And followed to become an excellent closer for Pit.
A deal centered around LHP Eduardo Rodriguez wouldn't be as sexy as some of the other prospective deals, but it would be more than fair value.
Eh... Would need good pieces added. I'd need more. I know we are weak on lefties, but they aren't great. Matt Davidson is probably the guy I'd want as the centerpiece. Adam Eaton would fit Luhnow's style.

So has Norris been scratched: a) so that he doesn't ruin the value we would get in return with another terrible start b) so that he can pitch against the Astros this series and build his ego against his old team's weak lineup, or c) so that he can start for another team in the next few days

Top 100 LHP in AA? I know he's doesn't throw 98 and won't be an ace, but he'd instantly fill a need (LHP) in the system and could fit in the middle of the Astros' rotation for the rest of the decade. He's doesn't have as high of a ceiling as a guy like Glasnow, but he also has a much higher chance of reaching that ceiling. I don't know. I hope we get Glasnow and Bell, or Skaggs, or Glasnow by himself, but if we can't swing any of those, I'd be more than happy to walk away with a top 100 future middle-of-the-rotation lefty in the high minors.
Might not be an ideal combo, but, if that's the type of players in play, then I feel confident that the Astros can get some good pieces back, wherever they trade Norris.
