Here's the monthly 3 point percentage 2012-11 : 26.3% 2012-12 : 29.2% 2013-01 : 32.7% 2013-02 : 42.4% 2013-03 : 40.0% 2013-04 : 36.4% ================== SEASON AVERAGE:33.9% This is an improvement right? If you match those rates that he was coming back from a knee injury and his new spot up shooter role, this should make sense.
Exactly, notice how when he was healthier and more in the groove, he was a great 3pt shooter. He's going to have a good year in my opinion.
Agree. The schtick is tired, esp. from posters like OP whose entire post history is dedicated to glorifying Lin and criticizing Harden. So transparent.
Lin is not the 1st/2nd scoring option, so he must not be consistent. The C and PF is more inconsistent.
I disagree with your post / thread. Jeremy Lin is inconsistent because 15% of Clutchfans says so. Nothing more left to be said.
D12's FG-M is going to be 12-13 per game (Asik's FG-M 7.4 in 2012/13), Parsons will be the next inconsistent player (in CF's standard) like Lin.
This topic was discussed many many times before. Even if op joined just in March should know and read about it.
-lin wasn't linconsistent last season. it happened that he wasn't able to make many open nor clutch shots. (Harden and Parsons' monthly 3-pt% varied as much as lin's.) yes, it makes sense, but the stats sample is too small. he only shot about 30 ~ 40 3-pts a month.
#1: Lin was the #2 option last year. Won't be this year. #2: Lin is young. Younger players are inconsistent. Will be older this year. Level of concern about Lin's shortcomings = low.
Agreed. I'm not very concerned about Lin's shooting. Shooting is probably one of the easier things to improve on. Case in point: Kawhi Leonard didn't shoot 3s in college at all, now he's on the Spurs, he can shoot 3s. I'm more concerned with Lin's fascination of driving into the paint and jumping up and having no idea what to do.
Because this thread: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=242400 People keep saying Lin needs to increase his 3 pointers to 40% which a key for Rockets to win championship even he's the 4th option in the team right now?
The reason for the fluctuation is probabilities. 3 pt shots are inherently inconsistent because it's a low percentage shot that's attempted very few times per game. For reference, Kevin Durant's monthly 3pt%: 43% 42% 40% 50% 34% 53% Also notice the fluctuations, albeit at a much, MUCH higher level. Yet the "inconsistency" exist because even Kevin Durant can't shoot 3s at a high enough clip for his numbers to look good. In contrast, Durant's FT%, which is a much was basically between 90-92% for all but one month.
This topic has beaten to death. Was he inconsistent? yes Will he get better? yes, we all pretty much agree on that at this point. Their should be a rule that if you post a Jeremy Lin thread you are banned for one month. Only to spread the threads out a little. :grin:
This has been discused thousands of times. And Lin's 3pt discussion was in almost every Lin thread. So you know what ppl would feel when someone makes such thread
