Getting Bundy would be a spectacular return for Norris. I was actually hoping for Norris + a prospect or 2 to Pitt for 2 or 3 of their top prospects, but Bundy was fantastic before the injury. Then there's this:
Bud, Lyles (they could put him back in the minors and try to better develop him), and Justin Maxwell (apparently they want some right handed power to platoon in right with Urrutia) for Bundy.
i was actually thinking lyles, or maybe ddj or velasquez (or any combo). and sure, throw in jmax too. "random trade speculation/proposal" is usually met with anger on these boards though, so i'll stop there.
Thanks for the head's up. I thought the anger mostly came from ridiculous trade ideas in the GARM, the trade ideas that are nowhere near possible with the NBA's salary cap. But yes, that was completely my speculation, no substantial rumors there. I came up with a hypothetical trade a while back involving the Pirates that got some interesting discussion (at least in my opinion). And with how tight-lipped our front office is (as evidenced by a random tweet here or there in this thread), it almost seems like all we can really do is just speculate trade ideas. But again, thanks cardpire.
oh, i certainly don't have a problem with it. although, even though i enjoy partaking, i can admit it's asinine given the millions of possible combos we could come up with. was just preemptively apologizing for all the eye rolls that may have been headed our way.
There is no way the Astros get Bundy for Norris, although perhaps you could get LHP Eduardo Rodriguez, who is in mlb's top 100, and/or 2b/SS/3b Jonathan Schoop, who was #82 entering last year by BA. I'd assume Gausmann is off limits as well? If I'm the Orioles, if you're going to trade for Norris, might as well do it before the game so you have to face Brett Oberholtzer, or whoever, instead of the Astros' best pitcher.
I do like the idea if packaging a lower prospect with a veteran for a top prospect. Would like to see us hang on to lyles as he is still so young and talented just hasn't put it together. With our middle infield depth in the system Deshields would be a prime candidate to package if they went that direction.
Gausman may even be more difficult to get, being that he is healthy. I'd much rather have Bundy though. Schoop really belongs at 2nd.

Astros and Orioles might be close and Baltimore is asking that we do not pitch him against them. "Can you give us a win instead by starting Harrell?"
