I have never came across anyone on this site who think Lin is better than Harden, quote or never happened
I applaud Sweet Lou's effort. I think every active poster should vote to show what is really going on. There are too many unfounded generalizations from both sides to make the Lin War a lot worse than it should be.
I like how everyone has to either be a blind fan or a blind hater. You can't make a reasonable observation about any player without someone jumping on you for "underrating" or "overrating" a player. This was happening way before Lin came along. Is it possible to think that Lin is a good player, root for him, and NOT want him to start? I think it is. I don't even know why I posted here. I normally try and ignore any and all Lin threads (Because the dialogue is a beating to read over and over again). Boring Monday at work I guess.
You realize there are only an extreme few posters who might express that opinion. And most of those are trolls or people whose opinions have no validity. No rational basketball fan would be influenced by anyone who said that Lin is better than Harden. Good job countering trolls and people that no one gives any credence to!
That first option has 26% of all the votes, if that even means anything in a multiple choice poll where people can pick as many answers as they want.
This is what I chose: Lin isn’t a great fit on this team and would be better of playing somewhere else(his play style as a ball dominant guard would be great if harden wasn't already one. I would MUCH rather the ball be in Harden's hands than Lin's because Harden is head and shoulders better than Jeremy) I would prefer to see Patrick Beverly start over Lin (I feel beverley is a better player, particularly defensively) Lin needs to produce a certain number of points and assists to justify his salary and presence (from a business perspective it makes sense, but not from an NBA perspective)
There are a bunch that think Lin and Harden should share the ball equally. As if they were equals. I always see a bunch of LOFs complaining that McHale doesn't give Lin the ball. Harden doesn't give Lin the ball.
With this type of poll, you have to look at the percentage of people who agree with any one statement versus another. So 66% of people say they support Lin and like him. You weigh that against the other percentages. It's not accurate to conclude the negative since disagreeing with a statement doesn't mean the opposite necessarily.
That isn't really true. Choice one can compliment any other selection. For instance, I chose 1,2,3,6 and 8. All of those selections can co-exist.
Yes, but that doesn't matter. If 80% of people agree with 1, 40% agree with 2, you can still say that people are twice as likely to agree to statement one than to statement 2. You agreeing to both does not impact that interpretation.
Yeah, I am not trying to piss people off here Tinman. Just trying to show a realistic view of what the board thinks of JLin so people can stop making these crazy statements.
You know the answer to this question. It's the same reason why some people think it was never McGrady's fault or why Yao Ming never had a bad game in his life It's the same reason back in a game thread in the Yao days, I told a fan that Yao got out rebounded by Len Bias when they play the Celtics and the fan started making excuses on why that happened. you know.
What's your point? That people make excuses for their favorite players? I don't have a problem with Lin fans making excuses. I am just tired of not being able to have an objective discussion without people getting all bent out of shape because they feel they are under attack. I figure if people can look at this and see how irrational it is to think that "everyone on CF thinks X about Jeremy Lin", maybe people will stop being so sensitive.
