Great this is multiple choice poll.

He doesn't need to be Linsanity in this team.

i know for a fact that Rosas loved lin's upside but somehow irrational, flip flopping game day thread poster knows more about players than our staff?

It's simple. He is an ok player with room to grow. You can't teach vision and that explosive first step he has. However every pg after the top 10 is basically the same player.

another day, another lin thread. =)

    Your poll should read:

    A. I root for the Rockets
    B. My mind is stuck on the Knicks brief winning streak a few years ago

Look at your results. The percentages are wrong. They should not ad up to more than 100%. You can't have more than 100% of the people voting as a tally.

I feel he is a mediocre PG that needs to focus more on fitting in the team offense and what McHale wants. That said, I am rooting for the kid to improve his game as a Rockets and I feel he can improve, I just don't know how much.

    THIS.
I'm a little bit harsher on Lin to counter all the dumbass fanboys that think Lin is better than Harden.

I feel this is an unfair statement. I know those guys are professionals and it's their job to scout players, but GMs/staff are wrong just as much as the rest of us. They also have their hits and misses. It's easy to pick KD or Lebron, but they earn their money by hitting on guys like Parsons. Easy to guess right on great players, but the average ones is where the big hit or miss occur. Cause in that case the Warriors wouldn't have let him slip away, and we wouldn't have cut him not knowing we would get him back. I know we had guarantee contracts, but we would have cut them if we truely knew Lin was a star. I can say when it comes to picking late round guys, average, or underrated players, I have confidence in our staff because of their track record, but that doesn't always make them right.

Only a lin poll would have the poll figures not add up to 100% to make it look like theirs inflated values

i also think the whole "not a good fit" argument is based on nothing but rhetoric. i watched every single game last year, and if you notice, in games where jeremy went off, harden also had his most ridiculously efficient games. when the defense is forced to account for lin, that's when harden gets the lane and gets his 10-for-15, 30pt games. when lin has the ball more, it actually made harden that much more effective.

the first two games of the last season, on NO practice time at all, was beautiful. the ball moved and opposing teams had no idea where/who the attack was coming from. watch those two games again - it was ridiculous how easy it was for harden to score in the 40's, and it wasn't because he was holding the ball for 20 sec each possession; it was because both he and lin were sharing playmaking duties, with harden focused on scoring and lin focused on distributing. keep in mind this was when lin was shooting a rondo-like 29% from 3's. this season we saw 25/5 from harden and 13/6 from lin. that's 38/11 from your backcourt. not too bad at all. up lin's numbers to 15/8 with howard, now you have 40/14 from your backcourt. i'd take that any day.

it's not a given that you can only have one ball dominant player on a team with the rest relegated to spot up shooting. history has shown that you can have two attacking guards (thomas/dumars, frazier/monroe, etc) you can have two attacking guards and be unstoppable with both guards scoring at a high efficiency.

As much as this ongoing debate around Lin and certain fans is tiring, I do find it interesting to watch how everyone works really hard to have their voice and point of view heard. We make assumptions about people based on a few words, and then get upset when others do essentially the same to us.

CF has actually helped me to become a better communicator in my offline life. And, thanks to all of you, my one line zingers have gotten zingier too :p
