Former big international signing (1.2 million) out of Venezuela. Big offensive tools, but probably limited to LF (according to BA Handbook). Fills need in system. Was ranked 6th in tigers system entering year by BA. Nice return for a reliever who was nontendered last offseason.
Obviously a lot of projecting here, but a Vasquez-Springer-Santana OF has potential to be pretty damn nice.
From a Tigers blog before the season: http://www.blessyouboys.com/2013/2/7/3962204/the-top-50-prospects-countdown-no-4-of-danry-vasquez
I think this is my favorite part of the trade. Corresponding moves! I wonder if we call up a bullpen arm or Peacock?
I would imagine that Vasquez will be staying in the Midwest League. EDIT: Yep. He would join Carlos Correa and Rio Ruiz as the only players on the QC roster born in 1994.

GM Jeff Luhnow says Vasquez will go to Quad Cities. According to Maury Brown, the PTBNL will be named "on or before" September 15. So that rules out the 2013 draft class.

40-man roster spot gives guys like Stoffel/Zeid/Chapman shots, as they all have good chances of being added to 40-man roster this season, since they would be subject to the Rule 5 draft this offseason. However, I wouldn't expect a 40-man roster addition until after the deadline. As far as the 25-man spot goes, I think Peacock is the logical guy. Lo is a guy I'd like to see.
