Don't want to slurp too hard but this is such a classic amazing move by Morey. I realize Camby's contribution will probably be meager, but we just executed a sign & traded of Camby 12 months ago (when he could have just walked): He gets signed to an overvalued contract by the NYK and we get 2 second picks. If that isn't good enough... the guy is back on our roster 1 year later at the vet min ( for 1/3 of what NYK/Toronto were going to pay him pre-buy out). That is some Houdini stuff.
Does anybody else see what is wrong with this picture? Camby cannot be No. 23. That is the retired jersey number of none other than Calvin Murphy, the Pocket Rocket. Edit: Oops. J.R. beat me to it.
Am I the only one that kept making the same mistake of thinking why on earth is the Kraken still on a rox jersey...
Maybe. I developed a ton of respect for Cisco last season, particularly in the play-offs. I don't recall seeing him play 2 guard at all but that doesn't mean anything. Having said that I think he would still be an upgrade over James Anderson. Williams is one of those guys that would have to come in and play out of his mind on the offensive end shooting 3 pointers because I can't find a single thing about him that suggests he can play defense.
Smith can palm a line drive pass out of the air like he has stick'um on his hands, never seen anyone do that before.
If your allowed 12 active players on your team why dont we just make Camby an inactive player along with lets just say brooks also inactive and Cannan in the DLeague, thus cutting cov, hernadez, and young allowing them to all win a DLeague championship I cant see Camby getting any minutes on opening nights game and brooks minutes could just be spilt between Lin and Bev.. i tend to believe our 3 your bigs will not be spending time at the vipers as a side note at the start of the season, unless this team has some more assets added Problem solved CF's Your Welcome
I like the idea of keeping Smith and letting him develop. We have plenty of depth at his position and can afford to take our time with him since he is so young. Other guys on the roster have physical attributes that can be replaced. Smith's size and soft hands are hard to come by. At the Summer League interview he said the main thing he was working on this offseason was a 15 ft jumper, so he knows exactly what he needs to do to get on the floor.
