Don't think you can downgrade a plan while on contract.

I'm trying to narrow down as much as I can.

    Trying to decide between: Lumia 928, GS4, GS3, Iphone 5 & 4s.

What do you guys think? Things I would consider as a first-time smart phone user (disregarding old Blackberry I had years ago) would be battery, speed and camera. I'm not sure if user-friendly is a must for me as I think I can play around with it enough to figure things out. Any recommendations?

I would say, if you're going to pick the iPhone, just hold off a couple of months until the 5s. If you need one right now, definitely the 5.

Lumia's a great option too. Very sleek phone, though Windows is still a bit behind in terms of apps compared to iOS and Android.

Definitely get the GS4 if you want a Galaxy series, though the Nexus 4 isn't a bad option either, but there's also supposed to be a newer model in October. The Moto X is supposed to be announced next week which might be another nice phone you might want to consider if you want Android.

Btw, I should have mentioned I'm on Verizon.

Thanks a lot IMF, will rep for input. All info is greatly appreciated.

What are the big differences between the S$ and S3 as well as IP5 and 4s? Also, in your own opinion, who's the leader in terms of available apps between iOS and Droid?

    No problem.

S4 has a newer processor, better screen (with a higher PPI), a better, newer camera compared to the S3. It also has features such as air gesture.

The two biggest differences in the iPhone 5 vs the iPhone 4s would be LTE data and a bigger screen on the iPhone 5. The camera is slightly better on the iPhone 5 but it isn't significantly better.

App availability is still better on iOS compared to Android.

Appreciate all of this. I'll have to decide between the Lumia 928, GS4 and I5. Anything is better than what I have so I feel as if I can't go wrong, but feel I should do some homework regardless.

Lumia fan here. Also comes with office built-in.

Lack of apps argument is overblown these days esp if you are not a power user now. Virtually all mainstream apps are avail now.

Plus with Live tiles are nice. Many apps you don't even need to open unlike my old iphone which I was constantly opening and switching apps apps.

Don't mean to thread jack, but does anyone use the Blackberry Z10, I'm in the market for a new phone and that one keeps tempting me.

I also saw a report that said the HTC One is supposed to come to Verizon on the 1st. How does that stack up against the competition?

Beautiful hardware design, phenomenal app support, zero lag, long battery life, generous warranty, and at least 24 months of OS updates.

Hmm, all I've read is how bad the battery life is.

I have to use medical apps throughout the day as well as reading and replying to emails and messages, and after 16 hours of work I am at 10%.

Well that would be more than enough for me. Thanks for the input. In your opinion, what apps on iOS would you say make getting an iPhone over an Android?

I have an LG Optimus 3X.

It has a 5 hour battery life. Have to constantly charge it. Power banks everywhere!

do a simple iphone5 vs galaxy s4 specs search and make a judgement from there.

I personally prefer a bigger screen size, so the S4 wins hands down for me. Specs wise, the S4 still beats the iphone.
