Didn't see this posted. Mayo updated his prospect list and it has 8 Astros in the top 100 (all in the top 80) Astros Prospects in the top 100 Spoiler #9- Carlos Correa (#3 on top SS) #22- Jonathan Singleton (#1 on top 1B) #27- George Springer (#8 on top OF) #29- Mark Appel #65- Lance McCullers Jr. #67- Mike Foltynewicz #74- Jarred Cosart #80- Delino Deshields Jr. Houston Astros Top 20 Prospects Spoiler #1-#8 (see list above) #9- Nolan Fontana #10- Domingo Santana #11- Jonathan Villar #12- Vincent Velasquez #13- Asher Wojchiechowski #14- Rio Ruiz #15- Preston Tucker #16- Nick Tropeano #17- Andrew Thurman #18- Brad Peacock #19- Carlos Perez #20- Max Stassi
I know we've only seen Cosart for two starts, so that story hasn't been told yet . .i get that . .but I sure hope he is right that Appel, McCullers and Folty are all better, is Cosart ends up anything like what he has shown so far, and he ends up our #4, there are gonna be some great days ahead!
From my amateurish amateur scouting point of view, it's getting really hard not to get excited about Max Stassi. He always had rave reviews about his defense, and the report was that he started to show some gap power last season, but he's never had a full season of professional ball. Simply staying healthy seems is his biggest hurdle at this point. Unlike other guys at CC that have some irksome flaws--Preston Tucker and Domingo Santana with big, long swings--Stassi's hands just explode through the baseball with very little extra movement in the batters box. There's so much to love about that swing, and after struggling to adjust to AA at first he seems like he's in line for an explosion in the second half. At this point, I'm really expecting one of Stassi or Perez to take Corporan's spot on the roster next year. I really like Corporan, but we have guys in the minors who deserve time at the C position and Corporan may fetch a nice mid tier prospect in return.
Velasquez with an elite game. 7 innings, 2 singles, 0 walks, 7 strikeouts. Plus, an astounding 11-1 groundout to flyout ratio.
Especially if you can platoon them vs. RHP and LHP, provided pitchers are comfortable throwing to both. And let's not kid ourselves, Castro is a pretty suspect catcher defensively. There are too many moving pieces to tell what the future holds, but Castro may see more time at DH down the road.
Not saying he will be better than Appel but Thurman looks real good so far. Stassi batting stance looks good and him and Castrpo will make a nice 12 punch.
TCB: Injury Report: Max Stassi Stassi has had bouts of shoulder tendinitis (none this season) in the past and missed the beginning of this season with a hernia.

Friday Stories Let's play 2 in Midland! 2-1 game in the California League. What's next? Could Greeneville make it 14? Recap Oklahoma City 10, Iowa 6 Thanks to a 6-run 2nd, the Redhawks jumped out to an 8-0 lead... and the Cubs made the final score a little more respectable for them. Everyone in the lineup had a hit except for Jonathan Singleton, who went 0-3 with a sac fly in the 6th and 2 strikeouts. George Springer hit an RBI groundout in the 1st to put OKC on the board first. Che-Hsuan Lin got it started in the 2nd by scoring on a wild pitch, then Ruben Sosa hit an RBI double. Jose Martinez then hit an RBI single, and Brandon Laird finished the inning by clearing the bases with a double. Martinez hit a sac fly in the 3rd, and Springer hit an RBI single in the 6th. Martinez finished 3-3 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Robbie Grossman was 3-4 with a steal (15) and 2 runs scored. Laird was 2-5. Sosa went 2-4 with 2 runs scored. He's been getting some run in the lineup lately and he's been delivering. This was his 4th 2-hit outing in his last 5. Wade LeBlanc went 5 innings and allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. Alex Sogard allowed 3 runs on 4 hits and struck out 1 in 1 2/3. In his AAA debut, Jorge De Leon pitched 2 1/3 scoreless, allowing a hit and fanning 1. Game 2 of this series has David Rollins coming up for a spot start.

@whattheheck57 that's the word on the street haha
— David Rollins (@rawdeezy14) July 27, 2013
Brett Oberholtzer was the scheduled pitcher, but he's in Canada right now. So, Rollins will start in his stead. He'll take on Barret Loux at 7:05. Game 1: Corpus Christi 12, Midland 6 A show of power in game 1, as the Hooks busted out for 7 runs in the 4th to turn what was a 3-2 game into a laugher. They put up 1 in the 1st on a Max Stassi RBI single, the 2nd on a Jio Mier RBI double, and the 3rd on a Stassi solo homer (12) before that explosion. By the way, Stassi entered July with 4 home runs on the season. Uh, he shattered that in rather short order. In the 4th, Mier kicked things off with an RBI single. Then Zach Johnson scored on a fielder's choice/error which allowed Drew Muren to reach. Rene Garcia and Preston Tucker followed with RBI singles. Stassi grounded into a force out. It was almost a double play, but an error allowed him to reach. Domingo Santana capped it off with a 2-run triple. In the 6th, Tucker (4, 19 season) and Santana (15) hit solo shots. Long, long solo shots. Santana finished 3-4. Nick Tropeano went 6 innings and gave up 5 runs (1 inherited) on 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. He allowed both men he faced in the 7th to reach. T.J. Geith got 1 out in the 7th and gave up one of Tropeano's runs and one of his own on 3 hits. Andrew Robinson got the final 2 outs, striking out 1. Game 2: Corpus Christi 2, Midland 0 Brady Rodgers has turned into quite the spot-start specialist this season. OK, OK, he's only been called upon to do that twice, but he's fared rather well. He threw 5 shutout innings and gave up 5 hits while fanning 6. I'm pretty sure he was glad to get out of Lancaster for the time being. Sergio Escalona allowed both men he faced in the 6th to reach, via a hit and a walk. Chia-Jen Lo ended that threat, as he struck out 1 in retiring the side. Pat Urckfitz allowed a hit in the 7th, but struck out 2 to complete the doubleheader sweep. Both Hooks runs came in the 1st, as Preston Tucker hit an RBI single and Domingo Santana had an RBI groundout. Santana had a good showing in the twinbill, as he went 4-7 with a homer and 4 RBI. Ronald Torreyes, Enrique Hernandez, and Zach Johnson had 2 hits apiece in the nightcap. The Hooks have won the series. The only questions remaining in this series is how many games they'll take. Ross Seaton will take on Murphy Smith at 7:00. Lancaster 2, Rancho Cucamonga 1 in 10 innings The Jethawks took the opener in extras as Chris Epps took Blake Smith deep in the 10th. Before that, they tied the game in the 7th on an RBI double from Carlos Perdomo. Delino DeShields went 2-4 with a double and a steal (38). Mike Hauschild had a fine start, as he went 6 1/3 and gave up a run (on a solo homer to Bobby Coyle in the 2nd) on 5 hits and struck out 7. Blair Walters pitched 2 2/3 perfect innings 8 up, 8 down. He struck out 4. Travis Ballew walked 2 in the 9th, but Kenny Long picked him up, striking out Scott Schebler to end it. In the middle game of this series, Kyle Hallock will take on Jharel Cotton. First pitch is at 7:05 Pacific. Jharel is Jamaine's younger brother. Quad Cities 1, Burlington 0 The River Bandits took 2 of 3 from the Bees as Vince Velasquez was dominant as part of a combined 2-hitter. Velasquez went 7, giving up 2 hits and fanning 7. Jordan Jankowski struck out 2 in a 1-2-3 8th, and Juan Minaya walked 2 in the 9th, but he avoided any damage by striking out the side to end it. Austin Elkins broke a scoreless tie in the 8th by legging out an RBI infield single which scored Teoscar Hernandez. Elkins also added a steal (15). Hernandez finished 2-4. The River Bandits are in Beloit to begin a 3-game series beginning tonight at 7:00. Chris Devenski will take on Andres Avila in a matchup of two pitchers who were demoted from the Cali League. Vermont 5, Tri-City 3 Kevin Comer's had a pretty rough July. The Lake Monsters pounded him to the tune of a 5-1 lead after the 3rd as they took the series opener. Comer lasted 2 1/3 and gave up 5 runs on 6 hits and struck out 1. Charles Basford allowed a hit, walked 1, and struck out 1 in 1 2/3. Evan Grills was excellent, as he allowed 3 hits and fanned 6 over 4 scoreless. D'Andre Toney hit a sac fly in the 2nd to put TC on the board, down 2-1. They mounted a serious threat late, but those were petered out. Jon Kemmer went 2-4 with an RBI single in the 8th. As a result of that single, the bases were loaded and there were no outs. Unfortunately, Jake Rodriguez struck out, and Ryan Dineen grounded into a double play. In the 9th, Toney led off the inning with a double and would score on an error that allowed James Ramsay to reach. A Conrad Gregor single put runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs, but Adam Nelubowich struck out to end it. Dineen finished 2-4 and had that costly GIDP. Mike Martinez was 3-5. Jack Mayfield, in his ValleyCats debut, came on for Tony Kemp in the 6th and went 0-2 with a strikeout. Tri-City will wrap up its roadtrip and this series at 6:05 Eastern, when Adrian Houser and Tanner Bushue go up against former Texas State pitcher Kyle Finnegan. Greeneville and Pulaski was suspended With the Appy Astros leading 2-1 in the 3rd. This game will resume at 3:00 (Eastern) this afternoon. Edwin Gomez hit an RBI double in the 1st, and he came around to score on a Chase McDonald single. Enderson Franco went 2 innings and allowed a run on 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. GCL Tigers 2, GCL Astros 1 The Tigers scraped across a run in the 8th to break a tie game, and that lead would hold. Jose Solano scored on an error in the 1st. Luis De La Rosa went 2-3. Trevor Crowe went 1-3 in a rehab start. Austin Nicely allowed a run (on a groundout), a hit (single) and walked 1 in 3 innings. Troy Scribner was tagged with the loss, as he allowed the go-ahead run in the 8th. He gave up 2 hits, walked 1, and fanned 6. Juan Carlos Santos walked 1 in a scoreless 9th. Game in progress in Lakeland. DSL Royals 5, DSL Astros 1 The Academy was buried thanks to a late rally by the Royals. They gave up 4 in the top of the 9th. Their only run came in the 1st on a sac fly from Arturo Michelena. Hector Roa and Jean Estrella had 2-hit mornings. Juan Hernandez didn't allow a run or a hit in his 2 2/3 innings, but he was all over the place, walking 5 against 2 strikeouts. Cristhopher Santamaria allowed a hit and fanned 2 over 2 1/3 scoreless. Victor Mesa pitched 3 innings and allowed a run on 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. Carlos Vasquez bore the brunt of the Royals' assault in the 9th, as he was charged with all 4 of their runs (2 inherited) in the inning on a hit and walked 4, while only getting 2 outs. Robert Corniel got the final out of the 9th via strikeout, but not before allowing 2 of Vasquez's runs. He walked 1.
In that chart, what does NP stand for? You would think it means Number of Pitches, but baed on innings pitched, there is no way that can be accurate.
