Klinsmann's finally got this team turned around and headed in the right direction. So far, I'm digging that hiring by Gulati and Co.

I guess you don't know who Pep is but either way I hope he doesn't do it. You can't shine a turd,

Haha, I know full well who Pep is. I just like where this team is headed right now, and want to see that through to the World Cup. After that, it's whatever. This wouldn't happen until after the 2018 World Cup anyways.

    Right on cue.

Ignore him. He's a bigger troll than swoly when it comes to the USMNT.

USMNT is doing great, so much creativity especially in the younger group, would like to see that transition to the older guys too.

You had to beg Donovan to come back. I'd say that about sums up the transition.

He is our best player, by far - the Gold Cup has more than proven it.

There was no begging the guy needed a break, took one, and now has earned his way back.

This is the best I have ever felt about the USMT going into a WC year, they really could do some damage.

Yes, because ALL superstars and GREAT PLAYERS "needed a break" in their careers? What kind of argument is that to help Captain America? That doesn't sound like a good thing.

Well, let's hope Zelalem gets his paperwork done. That kid looks like he's the second coming of Pirlo.

Just a question, but why the disdain towards the American team? I can understand rooting for Spain because you're of Spanish descent.....I can even understand rooting for Spain to BEAT America.....but to actively trash and root against the USMNT makes NO sense to me. You live in America, don't you? Are you here against your will?

Pep Guardiola will stay with Bayern for at least 5 years, maybe longer.

This will be the Bayern era.

He's not using that as a reason to help him. He's saying that those were the facts. Period. Everybody isn't the same, and life doesn't fit into some narrow little box like you seem to believe.

You know how the Lakers fans were acting all throughout the Howard saga? That's REEKO when it comes to anything American soccer. Actually, most Barca/Real/Spain fans I've come across are very much akin to Lakers fans.

True. G-d forbid someone loves a team that isn't Barca. I mean, how's it even possible?

USA beating a few third world countries in a row (sorry Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, and Honduras) is not anything to feel good about. They will likely get spanked out of the group stage at the world cup or barely make it only to bow out immediately.

So then what should Mexican soccer fans be saying right now?? They've struggled against and LOST to those same third world countries, and have much more pressure on them from their fans than the USMNT.

What's wrong with a little optimism from American soccer fans? We've literally had NOTHING to cheer about EVER, so why does having a little optimism chap so many hides from Mexican/European soccer nuts? It makes absolutely no sense to me, especially considering almost ALL of the fans that I'm hearing from live and work in THIS country. It's one thing to have pride from where you come from, and to want them to succeed. It's quite another to trash the place that you've made your residence, and call home.

Because we're not a traditional soccer-mad country. We don't deserve it. The USMNT becoming a threat is something that makes the entire rest of the soccer playing world cringe...whether we're there yet or not.
