Lol Duh, you think? Combo guards are at a premium now in the NBA. The Rockets tried having our point guards play the 2. Lin struggled with it though. Bev was adequate at it. This year they seem to have gone after some 2 and will try to play them at the 1 at times. Lin we are told by his fan boys is a true point guard. Hence we see why he is not going to be a capable player for the Rockets.
Too lucky are u the same poster with the same handle which is spamming crazy post in every Lin article in bleacher report?
Maybe I just missed it but I failed to see anything meh posted that could be classified as hate. I understand you disagree with what he is say
OK Lin going 6th is OK , but under what conditions? Which is best for the team? Seriously I have been posting like abit. Lin/asik combo is going to fail. Not good for team.
Fair enough. His lateral quickness is not great, that is true, but I do believe its not as bad as you may have thought. Look for it from last seasons games or this seasons games. As for decent or good, it may have be just semantics but I do believe personally that characterizing his defense as good is not far fetched.
http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2013/07/jeremy-lin-documentary-to-be-released-oct-4/ luckytxn 11:12 AM on July 25, 2013 Maybe we can have a new drinking game where we get to drink a shot of tequila every time Lin airballs.
Who says Lin and Asik would be paired for very long anyways? With Howard, Asik isn't going to see a whole lot of playing time and no one is suggesting taking big minutes away from Lin. Lin would still see plenty of minutes with Howard even if Lin were to be used as a 6th man. All that said I just don't see it happening. I can see how it could work, but I think we have to see how things work with him in our new starting lineup, maybe down the line but not gonna happen soon.
ok From what I have seen from Lin this last season is that if he plays back a tad more and the player starts for his run he can react in time and stop the play. If he is too close the player will tend to get by him but honestly most players will get beat by this. He just needs to learn from it and adjust to it. I guess we can say he needs experience. Look I actually like Lin and when he was coming to Houston I questioned him playing in the Western conference. He actually did better than I expected he would but he had many lapses as is to be expected. He did frustrate me as I saw when the season was getting toward the end he seemed to still do many bone head stuff defensively. I suspect it had to be with stamina and conditioning though. The whole teams conditioning sucked to be frank. I am expecting his and the teams stamina and conditioning to be better this year and improvements across the board. I hope so anyway. The main thing is the Rockets need to get better at defense across the board and I mean individual and team wise. Lin is a real good team defender. He seems to understand better than anyone else on the team this concept. Bev is a superior individual defender though but I didn't see much of him playing superior team defense but I do think he is capable of it. When the playoffs come we will need top notch team defense.
But the thing is, when Lin did shoot mid-range jumpers last year, he was horrible at it. He went from all-world mid-range jumper to below-average within a span of a year. If he's not hitting them at a high-40s rate, then it's a bad shot. And if the reason for his lack of touch is due to Harden dominating the ball, then the perfect answer is to have him be the 6th man off the bench. This way he can get into his rhythm shooting the ball without worrying about deferring to Harden and/or Howard.
In our back and forth, he condescendingly called me a LOF, and I (childishly..) wanted to reflect back to him how ignorant it was to label and group people, so I did it back to him. Not that I really think that there are many if any LOHs on this board.

That's okay if we want to have an average defense. To be really good, we have to have some good perimeter defenders as well.
I thought this Don't Stop Believing mix would resonate well with the gathering LOF/LOH in this thread. <object width="640" height="360"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/DjFU6LbRVL0?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/DjFU6LbRVL0?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
