can't revolutionize the QB position sitting at home.

Pretty sad...like him or not, this is a bit depressing...

The UT worship/non-stop Lin-style hype of VY really turned me off, but I really can't believe that players like the McCown brothers and Dan Orlovsky and Charlie Batch can get NFL backup jobs but no one will even give Vince a tryout.

I used to root against him a bit but am now pulling for the guy...

Vince Young’s possessions will be auctioned to pay back loan

Vince Young, the former NFL quarterback who made tens of millions of dollars in his NFL career, is having many of his personal possessions seized to pay back a $1.7 million loan.

KHOU 11 News in Houston reports that Harris County constables visited Young’s home and took an inventory of his possessions, including furniture, jewelry and art. Young is allowed to keep $60,000 in personal property, but a judge has ordered the rest of his property to be sold at auction to pay back the loan.

Young took the loan out during the NFL lockout in 2011 and hasn’t paid it back. Young later claimed that he didn’t understand what he was doing when he took out the loan and a financial advisor duped him, but he lost when the company that lent him the money took him to court. Young’s attorney went to court on Tuesday to attempt to get a temporary restraining order to prevent the inventory of Young’s possessions, but a judge denied that request.

As the third overall pick in the 2006 NFL draft, Young signed a contract with the Titans that guaranteed him $26 million. He played five seasons in Tennessee and then one in Philadelphia. He was with the Bills in training camp last year but was cut in August and hasn’t caught on anywhere since.

Young says he wants to return to the NFL, but with training camps opening and Young not on a roster, it appears that no NFL teams are interested in him. It may be time for Young, who graduated from the University of Texas this year, to find another job.

He can't just walk across the border to Canada and play. Montreal owns his rights and they already have a qb. He'd be sitting the bench there, too. What's the point of going if he's not going to play?

He obviously needs more poutine in his diet. If he doesn't eat that, he's an self-entitled P.O.S.

I didn't know Montreal had his rights. Canada isn't the be all end all by any means but it seems his options are looking pretty bleak. Working out for a team is great and all but it's getting to the point where ask yourself "how long am I going to wait for the phone to ring?". This is, of course, assuming he has a desire to play football, regardless of where it's at.

Despite the intellectual "hater" argument thrown at me, it's pretty depressing what's happened/happening to him. He should have broken the QB mold. And , no matter how many times apologists point figures and make excuses for him, it ultimately his own doing for why he's out of the league.

What a flaming disaster. From beating USC in 2006 and "All Vince All the Time" to this.

If you don't want to be called a hater, come up with a better argument of why someone has a sense of entitlement other than he doesn't want to go to a different league that doesn't suit his skills (and to a team that already has an established QB) to play football. There is nothing wrong with someone trying to work hard towards another shot in the NFL who doesn't want to go that route. Now, if there's a quote from VY ("Man, I'm too good for the CFL") indicating such a sense of entitlement, then I'll be happy to be correctly stood. However, I can understand not wanting to go to that league to be a backup.

    Indictment on his character?

He's stated that he wants to return to football, and it appears no NFL front office wants anything to do with him. If he's keeping in shape, and working on his game and really wants to play the sport, he might as well head to the CFL. But, he can continue to work out...or sit on the couch...whatever he is doing.

As for the over all situation, it's all speculation anyways.

Has he? Or has he stated he wants to try to return to the NFL?

Honestly, I'm not sure. If working out at ut isn't getting him into the nfl, the slim chance of making it back from the cfl might be his last chance.

If I can give advice to Vince, I'd tell him... avoid hanging out with Steve Francis.

I don't see why that concept is so hard to understand. Sure, it may not be ideal but it may be his last ditch effort and I he's getting pretty close to that point.

All I know is that if the raiders pass on you for Terrelle Pryor, it's not good.

How does being the backup QB for the Montreal Alouettes help him get into the NFL? His best route is probably to stay in shape and hope a team gets decimated with injuries and calls him midseason. The odds are small, but better than disappearing as a backup QB in Canada.

Maybe he wins the starting job. Maybe the starting QB gets hurt and he gets a chance. Again, the odds are small either way but I tend to lean toward the thinking that being part of a team, showing he will work and maybe having some opportunities to show what he can do on an actual playing field would be a good thing and something coaches GM would look at as a positive.

It's what Ricky did and he got another shot.

This. He needs a team with no competent 3rd string qb to have an injury to one of the top 2 guys. Not sure what other FA quarterbacks are sitting at home now as well.

I haven't cut Vince much slack because this implosion has all been of his own doing. Vince could never really show any humility and that has hurt him.

This is actually really sad because Vince had the ability to be on a par with Earl Campbell when it comes to Texas Football Legends.
