Why do lower bowl seats go to corporates? Leslie needs to give them to public and real fans who care about the team and show up

You can buy club seats if you want. They only start at $5,000 a season per seat.

    Uhh...convenient? Hardly.

Tell me how the average fan is supposed to get off of work at 5, drive out to the burbs, pick up the kid(s), feed the dog(s), get dinner, and make it back in to downtown in time for 7 o'clock. It was hard enough to do all of that and make it in time for the 7:30 starts. Whoever thought it was a good idea to move the time up from 7:30 to 7:00 should be fired.

The parking at the summit sucked. How old are you?

I hated waiting in the garages. And the walk was just as long.

It takes me less than five minutes to park and walk and get inside Toyota center. There was only one freeway in and out and that's 59.

How about you visit the old Summit area on a Sunday morning and see how traffic is.

Downtown has so many exits out of there.

Say you work in downtown, you have to go home at five, visit your lovely family at 6 and then do whatever with them and sit on 59?

    Downtown is the best location.

Sounds like a personal problem. No one asked people to move 30 miles out of the city. What would you have them do? Play in Katy?

On the start time I'm with you but it's a double edged sword when fans start leaving after the 3rd quarter because they need to drive back to ****ing the Woodlands.

Solution? Live closer and stop being scared of minorities.

I mean I agree with you but that's not realistic in a city this size.

I'm sure that fans will plan their lives around this and move closer just so they pay outrageous amounts for overpriced tickets, beers and food at Rockets games.

I never saw anyone b****ing about Minute Maid being in downtown and they start their games at the same time.

They drew decent crowds in the good years but it still wasn't ever consistent sellouts in the regular season. Obviously now it's a moot point because the Astros are terrible. But I'd say the major difference is in ticket prices. Makes it much more reasonable to say yes to fighting traffic and all of the other problems mentioned before and actually go to a game once in a while.

The Astros drew over 3 million fans 4 times since they moved into MMP. They drew over 2.75 million 6 times.

For perspective, the Rangers sold 3 million seats for the first time in their franchise history last season.

MMP's location has been a strength for it....not a hindrance at all.

Downtown location is a strength for both MMP and Toyota Center.

And yes..the Houston Rockets will regularly sell out games next season. They sold out about 25% of their games this last season with no lead time of an offseason to promote James Harden and being a franchise that had missed the playoffs for the previous 3 seasons....the hype surrounding this franchise coming in is already moving season tickets big time. It all starts with season ticket base.

They sell out all the time but will people actually show up to the games should be the real question.

& what time will the show up if they do.

If we click and start winning games I think it will be packed every night.

We have the ultimate bandwagon fans after all.

True in almost every market. Aside from just a few, let a team go a while without any playoff success in the NBA, and you'll find that good seats are pretty easy to find.

At the end of the day its a business, and if you were running it you would do the same thing to protect the bottom line.

Corporate and season ticket seats are guaranteed revenue, and you eliminate the risk of lost revenue later in the year by taking the payment earlier in the year.

If the Rockets really do look like contenders this year, Les might risk opening up more high-dollar lower bowl seats but it will be done soley because he thinks he can make more money in the process.

Sorry, but it is a business.

This is hilarious. You honestly think this is a valid hit against location? That it isn't close enough to your Houston suburb, so that you can leave downtown, pick up your kids, feed your pets and have dinner all before getting out to the game?

Live closer, have someone else bring your kids in, let someone else feed your pet and/or eat out in the city before (or at) the game.

Just amazing people complain about stadium/arena location for reasons like this. Truth be told, those are not really the people any team wants at the game because they are unlikely to spend any money at the arena or around town.
